How hard would it be to conversion Imperial guard (Cadians) into Space Marine Scouts?
I have plenty of marine arms, both for bolters and bolt pistol/chainsword.
Is the size difference too great? Or could arm/head swaps do the trick?

So no one else can find a simple picture comparing a Scout and a Cadian?

Also, why do Scouts not wear helmets? Could they be modeled with Space Marine helmets and look ok?

They don't wear helmets because before the plastics you had beautifully done Scouts by Jes Goodwin and they weren't screaming like idiots.

Also I think the emphasize the 4+ armour (which I'm sure will eventually be replaced by 3+ armour in GW's unending quest to elevate EVERYONE).

I'd help you with a pic but the only scouts I had were proper metal ones.

I have them both. I can upload a picture when I get back home, but there is a funny comparison between them. The scouts and soldiers are the same height, but the scouts are 'buffer'. You could convert them and it'd look ok so long as you didn't put normal tac marines anywhere near them. The lankiness would make them ideal for primaris marines I would think. I have headswapped between them without trouble.

I have never tried mixing them so can't say whether things would fit well or look out of place, but here's some side-by-sides between Cadians and a plastic Scout. They may help to give an idea of similarities in proportion and how they may work.

Oh wow! Thanks everyone. This really helps

As I mentioned, I have marine bolter/pistol/chainsword arms without the big shoulder pads (just the smaller inner-pads). Using those arms should give the Guardsman a big more bulk, while keeping him the same height. I also have some Wood Elf Glade Guard cloaks.
I think the Lasgun could easily be given an extended barrel to look like a sniper rifle.

the main reason I ask about the helmets is because I do no want to leave the Guard heads on them, but I only have 1-2 non-helmeted Marine heads. But I have DOZENS on helmeted Marine heads (with antennas) to use.

I think since the helmet is not part of the "black carapace" that the Scouts are implanted with to make them full-on Space Marines, having a helmet doesn't conflict with any fluff that I have seen.

Thanks again everyone!
