As the title says: Have you ever made a cloak from fabric and glue?

I read this as a viable technique somewhere but now can't find the webpage.
If you've done this, did it work? Any tips? Should I mould the cloak into shape when half dry or fully dry? What mixture of glue and water did you use? What fabrics would work?

I need to make a really big cloak and fix lots of plastic skulls to it, so I figured something made from glue would make that easy!

Yes! =]

so, thinking back:

0) paint the model
1) cut cloth to shape (I used a scrap of a white t-shirt)
2) test fit the cloth
3) fix in place with a drop of superglue
4) use needles and baking paper (optinally gravity) to hold the cloth in the position and prevent adhesion to the model where not wanted
5) brush on PVA glue/water mix.
6) brush on liquid primer, I used Vallejo Airbrush Primer
7) paint as desired

Obviously you can put additional stuff on there before brushing on primer.
Also, when using scraps from a shirt, you should have ample material for testing your glue consistency before you use it on the model.

I haven't, but I've seen people do that with tissues: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286080-tutorial-capes-made-from-tissue/

I did paper and glue capes for some of my son's Mantic Elf army regiments. Here is a really old link to LO: http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/hobby-forums/215140-fast-easy-cloaks-capes.html#post1859563
