Help! Calling out to maths geniuses out there. Is it ever better to use the Reaper chainsword over titanic feet for an IK? Statistically.

Titanic feet is way better for almost everything, but the Chainsword does have a use - against other superheavies and very tough units. Aside from those, it's feet all the way due to volume of attacks.

TO of Death Before Dishonour - A Warhammer 40k Tournament with a focus on great battles between well painted, thematic armies on tables with full terrain.

Shame this, isn't it? It demonstrates that GW doesn't know how to do maths when they give you an expensive option that's worse than the free option.

It does mean you can model a knight gallant with no arms, for all the difference it makes. Shame to have to pay for them though.

This being the "new" GW though, there's a possibility that they'll change things. So I'm not sure it's sensible to only use crusaders and throw all your reaper chainswords away just yet.

Yes, but..

Feet are always better against infantry. Sword is better vs. vehicles, but the gauntlet is better still. Maybe there's an edge case in there where the sword is better v. vehicles with invulnerable saves, but I haven't checked.

I wouldn't go that far. The gauntlet is still the Knight's best anti-tank weapon, and the chainsword is not far behind.

Reaper is better against low toughness, 6+ wound vehicles, such as Tau Commanders. But they are only slightly better than Feet. Feet and Gauntlet or TC are always better than Reaper.
