Hey all!

So I'm pretty deep into converting some Cadians into Elysian-like Tempestus Scions, but as I'm waiting for my shipment of plasma guns, I realized I don't even know if my army list is entirely ship-shape. I'm completely unfamiliar with the formations and such (I haven't played 40k since Black Reach was new).

Here are my two lists. Which would be better?

Air cav list
Spoiler:
+HQ+

Tempestor Prime w/Command rod and power axe (5) - 45

5 Stormtroopers (45) w/4 plasma guns (28) - 73

HQ Total: 118

+Troops+

10 Stormtroopers (90) w/4 plasma guns (28) vox caster (5) - 123

10 Stormtroopers (90) w/4 plasma guns (28) vox caster (5) - 123

10 Stormtroopers (90) w/4 plasma guns (28) vox caster (5) - 123

Troops total: 369

+Fast Attack+

Vendetta (110) - 110

Vulture Gunship (112) w/twin punisher gatling cannon (40) - 152 //QUESTION: I believe Tempestus can take this vehicle but I'm not 100%...

Fast Attack total: 262

Army Total: 749

Though I'm curious. Should I be taking Taurox Prime mini tanks instead of these considerably more expensive air vehicles? If so, how should I kit out my Taurox Primes so they're as effective as they can be? I heard taking a vanilla one with autocannons would be a good idea.

Here's my alternative Mechanized list:

Spoiler:
++Alternate list (Mechanized)++

Shameless bump, I went ahead and ordered some vehicles (Using alternates I plan on kitbashing) as I think I'm going to go for the mechanized list with 3 Taurox Primes decked with autocannons.

Taurox prime is great value at the moment. Guard codex will be out before the end of the year, so who knows what changes that may bring. Currently the Gatling cannon setup is cheap and great for infantry, but overall the missile launcher autocannon combo is stronger. They are cheap tanks that can tackle most targets, whether infantry or heavy. I almost never use the to transport scions though. I deep strike the scions and leave the taurox(s) in the back line somewhere. If I want to push forward with a mech list, I'll stick to vets and chimeras. Valkyrie is expensive but fun. It's cool for a melts scion command squad to get them in 1/2 range, but in general, just deep striking a bunch of plasma scions is the way.

Oh yeah, I'm dumping my stormtroopers through deepstrike and basically having the Taurox primes rush up to support. At such a small points level I can't afford to upgrade the battle cannons (Which I believe come stock on these vehicles?) for the gatling which is probably what I'd switch it up to, but when I eventually make a 1k list I'll beef them up a tad and ally in other Imperium to act as an anchor.

So I haven't gotten my hands on the updated Codex, but I'm curious what the point changes are and how they affect my list before I start kitbashing my Taurox Primes.
