Does anyone have any experience doing fleur-des-lis tattoos on sisters of battle? I'd like to mark out a few of my sisters as special by giving them little tattoos, but I've no idea where to even start! Any other tattoo ideas or something I could put on a banner?

The most obvious alternate designs are the order badge (if you have one) and the Ministorum icon (I with haloed skull).

I have some experience with fleur-de-lys tattoos. The biggest one is that you shouldn't be like me and have shaky hands. But technique wise, I'd recommend painting the central blade first, then the wings and when you have those adjust the size of the center to match. That's been the best approach for me to ensure the dimensions are correct (or as correct as I can make them).

I used plain black, but if you make the symbol big enough, a black base with a colored interior could work, too.

As far as size is concerned, I found a facial tattoo is beyond my ability to paint because I think it should be quite tiny so as not to dominate the face. If you have really steady hands and possibly a magnifying glass, that may not apply to you. Repentias are a lot easier in this regard since they have larger areas of skin, so you don't have to paint something very tiny.

I would probably not use a brush and just go straight for the thinnest pen you can find. Like 0.05 or less. easier to control especially since the fleur de lis is very thin and wavy.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

For tattoos, I've found mixing fleshtone into the tattoo color and a light fleshtone glaze really helps. Pulls it from body paint territory into tattoo realm.
Subtle, but makes a huge difference.

Decal paper
Resize some images and test print with copy paper. Once you're satisfied with the size, print your own decals. Don't forget to seal them before applying so the ink doesn't bleed.
