So... are we going to get new boxes? What are your guys thoughts? I think i heard something about conversions, but having to buy a cadian and then convert to a whatever... yikes..

I have been trying to WYSIWYG my army for a while now, and I think these new regiments are exciting, but I am avoiding metal and old even-pricier-stuff so not sure what to do... hopefully more info will keep coming.

3rd party is always an option. like victoria and anvil makes some really good parts.

just keep it wysiwyg equipment wise, keep everything looking coherent and there should be no problems.

personally would love to do chem dogs.

I'd be shocked if GW released a new plastic regiment.

Third party is the way to go. Vic Minis, Anvil and Mad Robot all offer a great selection of cool parts.

as long as you don't have to play at a GW 3rd party is the way to go. Every option imaginable can be found with a little work.

GW will probably put the metal sculpts out again so people can pick them up while IG hype is at critical mass, but I'm not holding my breath on new plastic kits or especially a regiment, even if now is the perfect time to redo one in plastic.

GW might bring out a new regiment box eventually, but I don't think it is going to happen soon. Maybe when they do a big IG release in the future.
The best option to create a different looking regiment is to kitbash with other GW kits (that way you get a unique army while still being legal). Of course, if you never play at a GW store or event you can go for third party models and bits. There is loads of small companies out there that make cool things you can make a regiment out. I would make sure to use GW weapons though. Some people take WYSIWYG very seriously and might object to lasguns that aren't official lasguns or plasmaguns that do not look like other plasmaguns in the setting.
Personally, I am making a regiment out of Scions, Anvil and Victoria bits. Looks great, and even the local GW store doesn't object as long as at least half of the model stays GW.

Does anybody know of any guides people have put together? Like I'm buying x from this range y from that range etc and voila I have a Valhallan.

I will keep looking.

Thanks all for the replies.

Someone posted a list of potential Made To Order for the coming weeks, which have the missing elements of the regiments.

Whether or not they become a fixture of the website or if it's another one of those "one week" things, no one knows. Hopefully it sticks this time. At least the Kasrkins are making an appearance again, so it means that things can appear again on Made to Order.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
