I'm starting a new Tau army and I was wandering if there's any rumors regarding Tau.

I go by the rule of cool so if I don't like the model I won't get it no matter how good it is on the battlefield and looking
at the Tau army I see they have some really old kits. The crisis, stealth suits, vehicles are ass old.
I would really like to see some new cool kits like the Ghostkeel (best looking in Tau army). I hope I'm not
waiting for nothing.

Crisis Suits just got a new kit last year. Unfortunately you don't see too many of them because Crisis Suits were outclassed by Riptides in 7e, and are outclassed by Stealths and Ghostkeels now.

Crisis are new ? I got the impression they are pretty old cause of the blocky look.

What Jade means is the kit got an update, not that crisis suits are a new addition as a whole.

It's highly doubtful that Tau will get any new kits for the foreseeable future; in the past year or so they got their 7th edition codex which came with the Stormsurge Superheavy, Ghostkeel suit, Revamped Crisis Battle Suit kit, Plastic Ethereal and updated Fire Warriors kit. That's a lot more kits than most factions have seen in half a decade.

Was it 2015 they got those kits? Maybe 8th edition codex will bring some fresh air.

I'll be happy with revised unit costs, some decent strategems, and a reworking of the ML table.

I think the T'au line up is pretty solid as is, with only their allies such as the Kroot and Vespid needing a little TLC. There are a few rumors circulating regarding this and it looks as though a new codex will be coming in 2018.

IT was spring/summer of '17, with the mont'ka and Kayon books.

Was prior to winter of 2015/2016. Bought my army then and all the new goodies were out already.

The most recent Tau release was 2015, almost two full years ago now.

I can't believe some people seriously believe that it happened this year, and just a few months ago at that. Especially since the campaign books followed it shortly after, which so far in 8th hasn't even been a thing.

Also, I don't think it's "highly doubtful" at all that they'll be getting something new soon. If I'm not mistaken, Lady Atia said there was a possibility there would be a Tau update next year with more of a focus on their allied races, and she's been pretty reliable so far. Seeing as how the main thing the range is missing now are updated kits or new options for Kroot, Vespid, etc., it makes a lot of sense. Not only that but Tau seem to be one of the more popular xenos races, if not the most popular, or else they wouldn't have gotten as many frequent updates and new plastic kits as they have. Ork players haven't really been feeling the love so much these past few years and even Eldar are still stuck with half a range full of godawful Finecast crap. I'd bet after the next update though it might be a while, since at that point the range will be pretty much complete, barring plastic replacements for special characters (like Farsight) which they could release whenever they wanted to, really.

Cool news, thanks for sharing that Sidstyler. So there's some pretty high chance Tau will get something in 2018. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Thats Tau bias going for you, many think the Tau update was recent. Also lady Atia has confirmed that the Tau are getting a release next year that isn't directly part of the Tau empire.

This will most likely be a themed faction release. Prime candidates are Tau auxiliary race or Farsight Enclaves release. Her accuracy rating is like 99% correct. It's a matter of when not if.

As long as Tau keep selling they will get kits guys. Look at how massive the other xenos ranges are compared to them. You think GW is going to stop when they are selling that good? Your crazy I say. That being said it will be some time for their next update afterwards.
