Title pretty much says it all. Looking at picking up some Mandrakes at some point, because I love the models, and they seem to have some solid utility for the points, but I'm wondering, if I run 10, would it be better to run them as a single 10-man squad, or as 2 5-man squads? I feel like there's some definite value to 20 baleblast shots into a single nasty unit, especially if it's a unit with a decent save that could do with a few mortal wounds, but I also like the utility of deep strike MSUs and being able to throw them in where they're needed.

You can always double down with two units against one nasty unit.

keeping them split gives you the option to deploy them where ever you need them. the only real downside is that it takes up two slots instead of 1

If you can fit a single unit of 10 in a space to shoot something, you can fit 2x5. Only danger is that you may not make the charge.

Depends on the possible strategems and if you want an increased chance of going first more than the utility of 2 units.
