I feel like I am the only one (Online or otherwise) who fully appreciates the searchlight of the sabre weapons platform. I believe it is in battlescribe.
Coming in at 20 points, this puppy provides an immovable object with a 7e 48" markerlight, putting modern T'au to hoof-shuffling shame. Anyone else ever use these, or have seen them used?

They were all the rage for a while, considering that like you said it was effectively a 20 point marker light with lascannon range.

However I think Conscript and Scion spam took their thunder. They're awesome, just not as awesome as those two.

With searchlights the fact that you also have to either scratchbuild or go 3rd party for them also left alist of people less likey to use them, same with basilisk platforms. Originally folks also got excited because it was ANY unit and didn't forbid stacking of the searchlight buff but FW faq'd it to only infantry and it not stacking with other searchlights so i guess it pout a further damper on it.

Personally i still think they are great as +1 is something you dont get alot of in IG and the gact they are cheap give you the redundancy that all guard list usually and should have.

As for my own favorite units, I'm a big fan if the Stormhammer, not only does it look cool but its effective while being one of the cheaper (not sure if the cheapest) of the baneblade chassis.
Also i like the lascannon Tauros Venator, for lest than two lascannon sentinels (arpund 80pts?) you get a comparable statline, 15" of movement, a 5++ if you move 10" or more, ans ignoring the -1 to hit for firing heavy weapons after moving.
