Those free hands on the flags are sweet!

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

The flags look nice, but I'm not sure what the story they're telling me is.

With the rest of them- the lack of coherent uniforms makes me think they're more of a militia or hastily drafted colonists defending their small settlement (which works).

Yeah...the painting is well done, but the overall doesn't fit at all in the 40K universe. Looks like a quality Infiniti force though.

To be fair- the 40k universe is sort of designed such that anything anyone wants to make can be made to fit in somewhere.

At least, that's what I've always understood from all the talk about how large the universe is and how your story won't matter in the bigger picture.

You know- insert head cannon here.

Paintwork is nice enough, but between the thread title and Den of imagination, I had great expectations and cant help feeling dissapointed at the collection.

It just dont make sense to me, particulary the banners.

Ofcourse, that is just personal oppinion and I would gladly play against such an army if I had the chanse.

Neat

though im not a fan of some of the plasmas.

the heavy weapons plasma look fantastic but the normal plasma gun ones look way too big.

On their own they look cool, like a band of rag tag militia. But I dont get the flags at all. The client should not have skimped on the basing, you have all these models that are just popping right off the table but really bland, sparse bases. I know thats not your choice as the commission painter.

They look cool, but if I still played 40k these would be a huge pain to play against and know whats what.

I agree with some of the above comments. The models are really cool, and the paintjob is great, but they're too varied and there's a not really enough Imperial iconography to suggest they are Imperial Guard. Actually, is there any at all? I can't see a single Aquila...
That's not necessarily a problem on its own, but then there are also no IG tanks or vehicles, and no uniform - as as been said, they look more like a militia.
I can believe they're 40k, but I find it hard to believe they are Imperial Guard. I think they'd better as a national or planetary defence force, perhaps fighting off the Imperial Guard as the Guard come to reunite them with the Imperium.
