Hey all, trying to get some feedback on what folks would think about a 40k Legio/Adeptus Custodes themed army with converted models counting as SM until Custodes gets more/30k gets updated to 8th. Could run the counts-as units under a "Custodes" chapter for chapter rules.

Here's a rough force org:

+HQ+
Captain-General (SM Captain + Chapter Master Strategem)
Tribune (SM Captain)

+Troops+
Custodian Guard Squad
Custodian Guard Squad
Sagittarum Squad (Tactical Squad) <-Use some 30k bits for heavy/special weapons

+Elites+
Aquilon Terminators (SM Terminators)
-Fire Pikes = Heavy Flamers?
-Solarite Gauntlets = Lightning Claws?
Achillus Dreadnought (Venerable Dread) <-Not sure on weapon conversions/counts-as
Venerable Contemptor Dreadnought

+Fast Attack+
Grav Bikes (SM Bikes)

+Heavy Support+
Venerable Land Raider
Caladius Grav Tank (Predator)

+Transport+
Coronus Grav Carrier (Rhino)

What you guys think? Would you play against it? Would the models be too confusing to remember? Would love to hear feedback!

Primaris Intercessors or Hellblasters

+Elites+

The Primaris suggestions make more sense - 2W, good match of weapons. I like the ideas above. Mind that you pick transport-counts-as that can carry the right things!

That's exactly what I've been doing with my custodes army, except i run the Coronus as another land raider and couldnt stand the sagittarum in 30k (though terminators i definitely would like to add to my list) If only FW would stop screwing around and just make 8e rules for the custodes army.... The spear dread would be amazing, sword dread with twin flamers and a 3++ would be incredible and my wrecking ball known as the Telemon is anti-knight level destruction we've always wanted out of a dread

Automatically Appended Next Post:
but the sagittarum you could technically use pretty easily. Give him the Imperial Space Marine gun (local gaming buddy uses one very well) and either the hellblasters statline or bump the points up a little over normal custodes and use theirs.

"You are free, Leman Russ of Fenris, because your freedoms match the emperor's will. For each time I wage war against worlds that threaten the Imperium's advance, there comes another time I am told to conquer peaceful world's that wish only to be left alone. I am told to destroy whole civilizations and call it liberation. I am told to demand millions of men and women from these new worlds, to make them take up arms in the Emperor's hordes, and I am to call this a tithe, or recruitment, because we are all too scared of the truth. We refuse to call it slavery.' 'I am loyal, the same as you. I am told to bathe my legion in the blood of innocents and sinners alike, and I do it, because it is all that's left for me in this life. I do these things, and I enjoy them, not because we are morale, or right - or loving souls seeking to enlighten a dark universe - but because all I feel are the Butcher's Nails hammered into my brain. I serve because of this "mutilation". Without it? Well, perhaps I might be a more moral man, like you claim to be. A virtuous man, eh? Perhaps I might ascend the steps to our father's palace and take the slaving bastard's head"

I'd personally mention space wolves as being ideal for making it as wysiwyg, as their wolf guard have access to more options on the bikers/terminators. It'll be weaker than using one of the codex variants though.

avoiding the lorax on Crion

Only thing I see.

One.
The heavy weapon custodoes.

Look at the model size difference.. A tackle marine is alot smaller even bulked out. You might want to go buy thr legit models.

The terminators, yes. Bling any non custodes unit up!
Use catapracti models. The others would be too small.

Custodes jet bikes are not small long term you may wanna buy forgeworld of you got cash. They maybe 1.5 to twice size as bikes.

Other than that. Great list n model choices!

They are the same size as Intercessors though if he choses to go that route.

Catapractii are the same size as Tartaros, and regardless still too small for the Aquilon Terminators.
