Just wanting to know everyone’s opionion on the Auxilary detachment.
Is it worth taking at all? Does utility outweigh bonuses gained? Ya know that kind of stuff.

My main army is Admech, the kind with big guns and shoot a lot.
Although I’ve recently acquired a Leviathan Dreadnought and an accompanying Lucius DropPod
I love the model and would love to incorporate it in my army, for that matter what’s anyone’s opinion on the Leviathan and/or the Drop Pod?

Thank you all for replying!

Literally only Guard can get away with it because they can bring in so many Command Points they can waste them as much as they want.
Arguably so can Tyranids, but why would you do that? They basically have no allies haha

If you're running tournament rules of max 3 detachments, it actually leaves AM at 8 CP, which is a huge hit against their standard 12. (and about normal for other armies, but whatever.) Girlyman's extra 3CP is more along the lines of something that leaves an army at about the same CP it would get without an auxilary detachment.

I say go for it in friendly games to bring in your awesome new models, but leave them out of any tournament you're planning on attending unless you can shove them into a proper detachment.

I see, makes sense. Yeah I don't plan on ever really attending competitive games. My usual play group usually runs around the 1500-1850-2000 point games so maybe I can fit in an Admech Brigade...maybe. I know I can have a Battalion and I'm alright with 4 CP.
