What unit (in 8th edition) is the most powerful unit in 40k? Every model is allowed as long as it has a 8th edition rule set.
Categories I want to see:
1. Most wounds.
2. Most fire power.
3. Most damage output.
4. Largest model.
5. Most Points in one unit/model.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Manta has 60 Wounds (and I can't be bothered working out its points cost )

Assuming I've added it up right, the Manta is 2,501 points (36 weapons!)

The Warlord Titan really has no competition. Maybe excluding FW would make it more interesting? I really don't know, not knowledgable enough.

If you wanted to make it a closer fight, you could include the units in the Manta. But that wouldn't be "single unit."

The biggest question really is... who fancies Mathhammering out one Warlord Titan vs 1333 Conscripts?

It takes 7,560 lasgun shots to kill a warlord titan. So if hypothetically every conscript got a single shot, it'd take 5-6 turns for them to kill it. The titan kills like 100 conscripts a turn. In short, conscripts have the upper hand if you can cram a thousand ish of them within 2 ft of the titan.

I'll just assume you realize it is that this game has no ability to scale properly now that a lasgun wounds a titan on a 6+. Seriously the chance to wound a titan and a leman russ with a lasgun is the same. Extra wounds can only do so much.
Also, if the conscripts were in squads of 20, he'd struggle to even kill the full 80 per turn, making things even sillier.

How many individual Biovores can you get for 4000 points?
Or Chaos Spawn.

I don't think the problem is that everything can wound everything on a 6+, the problem is that there's almost no way to properly deal with hordes so they can drown you in dice to force wounds longer than they should be able to. GW should've handled all former blast weapons like they did (or rather, how FW did) with the Leviathan Dreadnoughts' Grav Flux Bombard: starts at a certain number of shots and gains additional shots as the unit it targets has more models in it. Probably not at the same rate as the Grav Flux Bombard does (because that would make hordes completely unviable again) but maybe it could be done like for example a Battle Cannon starting at D6 shots and it gets 1 extra shot for every 5 models in a unit and really expensive anti-horde weapons getting D3 shots per 5 additional models or something (could give the Vindicator its bite back but it would need to be accompanied by a solid points cost increase).
As for the original question, the Warlord Titan obviously wins out. For units you can actually field once in a while, the most powerful unit I can think of is the Falchion (if you can find someone that is willing to go up against it because it's OP as feth). 26 wounds, toughness 9, main weapon is a Twin Volcano Cannon with 120" range, 2D6 shots, S16 AP-5 2D6 damage at BS3+. And if for some reason that doesn't reduce whatever you were shooting at to split atoms you also get two quad lascannon sponsons to finish the job. Fieldable for the ridiculously low price (for the insane amount of firepower you get) of about 800 points.

Falchions are pretty scary indeed. But a lot less scary if youre not relying on big vehicles.
