So long story short, I'm going to try painting my Death Guard with Stormvermin Fur and green eyes/lenses. I really like the brownish-gray tone it has (it's the closest we can get to Charadon Granite, RIP :( ), and despite having a horrible consistency for painting, it takes to airbrushing very well. I'm currently doing it over gray primer, though I'm considering white (or at least white zenith 'highlighting' with the primer layer) to make it stand out more.

However, I've run into a bit of a problem. Two, actually:

1: What color works as a highlight for Stormvermin Fur?
2: What color should the metallic trim be? Grungy silver? Patina-laden bronze? Aged gold? Each one has its merits!

Not sure about the highlight and metallic, partially because not sure what stormvermin fur is exactly, haven't kept up with the line changes, but re:charadon granite, have you tried vallejo german panzer grey? Its my current substitute...

I'd say for the grey highlights, maybe Dawnstone for the main highlight then administratum Grey for the extreme?

For the metallic:

If you're going with silver, I'd suggest adding an extra colour somewhere on them, like an orange or red to contrast with the green lenses and to bring out certain elements on the otherwise monochrome scheme. Some vibrant, orange rust would be excellent for this, and if you're using the new Death Guard models, the fleshy parts will look great too with the scheme.

Bronze would be good, because you can add the oxide weathering paint to parts and make it look really cool, which doesn't happen on gold, so if you were going either of those, my suggestion would be the bronze.

I'm not sure which would look better. The silver would make the fleshy parts and rusted areas and lenses pop, but the bronze would work with those colours too and would highlight the shapes of the armour really nicely. So you can't really go wrong to be honest

I'll need to look into that color you mentioned!

Good points on the trim; I'll have to play with it a bit, see what I can do. And I was hoping to avoid pure gray highlights, find something that had the slightly brownish tone, but I suppose it mat have to do.
