Hi, I wanted some advice to select paint for a light blue. I am buying Vallejo because I have a ton of store credit at a place that carries only Vallejo Model Color and Vallejo Mecha Color. Plus, I like dropper bottles. I also have Citadel shades.

I was thinking:

Base: Dark Blue (VMC 930)
Shade: Drakenhof Nightshade (Citadel)
Highlight: Andrea Blue (VMC 841)

However, I am worried about this being too dark. I have an alternative:

Base: Andrea Blue (VMC 841)
Shade: Drakenhof Nightshade (Citadel)
Highlight: Sky Blue (VMC 961)

Any recommendations?

If you want a light blue I would definitely go with your second scheme. The first one is indeed going to end up pretty dark.

Just a note though: Andrea Blue is very blue. Deep Sky Blue is a similar, but more muted option. There's also Azure if you want more of a turquoise blue?

Here's a chart:

This color swatch is a bit more accurate.

I have several VMC blues, darkblue is a tad darker but it has a nice finish. Flat blue is a medium blue tone
but it has an extremely matte finish (hence the name), I love matte colors but this one is a bit "strange". I don't have Andrea blue but
as Suzuteo said deep sky blue is very close and it's very bright and light blue. Andrea might be too vivid/bright blue except if that is what you're
looking for.

Another thing. If you go with Deep Sky Blue, be sure to wash selectively with Drakenhof Nightshade or things will end up tinted a bit purple. Thinned Nuln Oil or VGC blue wash might be better choices.
