So I decided to go for death guard green as my ork Klan colour but I'm unsure on at paints work well for highlighting/shading[i] it

Lots of ways you could go. I'm highlighting my Death Guard with VGC Livery Green which is a very bright yellow/green kind of similar to Nurgle's Rot, but you could choose a green that has more white than yellow. I always think of highlighting as a secondary color I'm mixing with my base color to bring in contrast - do I want to add in blue, yellow, white, etc? Any brighter color you use is going to have some different values from your darker base color, so the question is what kind of tone you want to go for.

Most people are highlighting DG Green with Ogryn Camo, but Nurgle's Rot, Nurgling Green and Niblet Green would all work. For shading Agrax Earthshade should work well.

Any of Warhammer TV's recent Death Guard videos show what they use to highlight Death Guard Green...

So I guess whatever Duncan says is how you have to paint everything, sorry.

If you want to save some time highlining everything. You can use watercolor colored pencils. Just draw the highlines on before sealing the model. It can be very effective and fast. Looks good too.
