I am looking to finally get all my models off of dusty shelves and cleaned and into a display case. However, most I've seen are several hundred dollars. Looking for something simple, 2/3 shelves, table or dresser top type deal. Don't really have room for a big free standing deal at the moment.

What do you all use for such purposes? Custom built? Jewelry cases?

Thanks in advance for any info and suggestions.

IKEA has all your display case needs in an easily mailed, mostly easily assembled format. Last I looked they had a nice model with a display light and a couple shelves.

The "Detolf" display cabinet is recommendable, sold through IKEA. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10119206/?query=DETOLF+Glass-door+cabinet

59 USD is not too shabby

I have 10 of em for all my miniatures and am very content. Easily buildable and looks nice.

I have that one too. Cheap, can be viewed from all sides and small enough for you to find a place for it even if you don't have lots of room.

I do commissions:

Made my own design for an ikea one

its a half billy with a glass front

about 120ish

then about 10 for extra pegs

another 15 for 5 sheet metal trays scratch built.

if i take out all the books i could get far far far more into it. and its variable positions so i can fit big and smaller sized models on each shelf

Edit: i have a detolf but it lets dust come in.

you need to put in some work to make it dust proof.
you can also add more shelves to it using cable clamps and extra glass though i know there are some guides to do it.
