Hello all,
It seems that my short fling with Genestealer Cult might just become a full fledged romance as I spent most of the night trying out few things with the index I borrowed.
I have 2 lists that need review:

List 1 - Neophyte squads spam.
Spoiler:

This list is quite simple in that it follows Imperial Guard logic - more bodies, the better. Two squads with Shotguns and Chimeras with Heavy Flamers go into cult ambush, and so do the Aberrants I'm going to reroll their Cult Ambush if needs arises. Scout Sentinels go into preferable position and unleash my main anti-tank armaments. Leman Russes follow the infantry as we spread out to either encircle our foes or grab objectives, providing my second anti-tank option - just shooting it with Battle Cannon. Magus is there for protection against sorcery and goes with one of the Neophytes squads with Autoguns. Iconwards go with the on either side of the formation (with Neophytes with Autoguns) providing bubble of 6+ FNP and rerolling morale.

List 2 - Neophytes supported by Acolytes.

Two squads of Acolytes with Rock Saws go into one Chimera as now it's legal and go into Cult Ambush mode with Aberrants. I'm going to reroll their Cult Ambush if needs arises. Aberrants go after tougher targets (seriously, I think they can take down Terminators with their hammers) Acolytes go into softer targets (most likely will double charge the same thing - this way I have additional attack thanks to 2 Acolyte Leaders) while having some "can openers" in form of Rock Saws. Rest goes pretty much like in the first lists.

Which list would be better guys? Something more to change?

Not much advice to give I'm afraid, but GSC vehicles don't have the cult ambush rule so they can't be set up in reserves. Footsloggers only.

You could drop those vehicles and use the points to beef up the would-be ambushers.

Aww man, my friend is a dirty cheater then. Still my Aberrants will be able to cult ambush and being carried in a Chimera might still be good for my acolytes.

Thanks for the info!

With your list you're probably better off playing Astra Militarum
Sure its great to have all those bodies but your shooting is far worse than AM. AM Troops that can take Orders to improve hitting and wounding and Vet Squads hit on 3 and have space for 3 special weapons. Outside of rerolling moral checks you have no means to improve your moral or the losses from the checks the way AM does. Neophytes fall apart without a Commissar or spending 2 CP to avoid the moral phase.

AM is better at commanding LR, you list would benefit greatly from a Tank Commander to give out orders, and Grinding Assault which if I'm correct is only available to AM detachments ATM.

Aberrants are fine transport and tank killers but I'd rather have the more reliable cult ambush in a Primus that can also improve the WS of your power hammers.

I play GSC and am a fan of loading up goliath rock grinders with acolytes with demo charges and pushing into the enemy. You can probably proxy all those chimeras into rockgrinders if your friend doesn't mind. This lets your Neophytes with heavy weapons sit on objectives unmolested.

Patriarchs and 20x genestealers are almost too good to pass up with might from beyond you get 100 attacks at S5, hitting on 2's, Rending -4AP on wounds of 6. They shred everything just make sure you choose the best round to bring them in.

Edit: I like your second list better

Lots of good tips. Might want to take Tallarn Spearhead Detachment for better Leman Russes. That would also give me Tank Commander. Which Heavy Weapon would you recommend for getting for my Neophytes? Heavy Bolters, Stubbers? I think I have enough lascannon shots with 4 Scout Sentinels.

Your choice; I kind of like the Seismic cannon for versatility and GSC flavor
