Someone came up with this tournament idea a little outside of my area, and I'm thinking about going. You have to bring a 100 points list, but there can be no duplicates of cards or models, and no unique pilots or upgrades.

With that in mind, I figured I could do a brick list and bring a ton of hit points with some 3 red dice models and try to outlive my opponent.

This would be a first draft:

Red Squadron Veteran (26)
Intensity (2)
R2 Astromech (1)
Comm Relay (3)
Integrated Astromech (0)

Blue Squadron Pathfinder (23)
Fire-Control System (2)
Inspiring Recruit (1)
Pivot Wing (0)

Lothal Rebel (35)
Accuracy Corrector (3)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Wookiee Commandos (1)
Tactical Jammer (1)

Total: 100

we've ran something very similar locally. it's great fun to mix up what you usually play.

to your list, damn that's a fair few hit points...

Imperial Knight: x3 (2 gw Knights and 1 converted Acheron knight, wasn't going to pay Forgeworlds price.)

It's fun because you keep having to stop your own train of thoughts. I'm constantly thinking "yeah but if Soontir is there..." and then realize that he can't. I've seen a Reddit that talks about the format and allows the lowest PS pilot from ships that only have named pilots, but with a blank pilot ability. Ours doesn't.

I'm debating switching points around to include a TLT Y-wing or a fast, elusive A-Wing Green pilot with PTL and Intensity.

Also, regarding the T-70, I was wondering if I could use a 1pt EPT like VI and instead use a generic R3 Astromech to bank my Evade token. PS 6 is quite high in this format.

This sounds like a fun format, I might try doing that around here one of these upcoming weeks. Taking the Ghost seems to be a good idea, strong jousting potential, and wookiee commandos aren't a bad idea, cheap re-rolls, and ABT in't a bad option, especially with AC. A TLT Y-wing might be good to have in there, good plinking damage.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

this is what our last tournament was about:

75 points
no bomber keyword ships
1 ace must have
3 unnamed pilots max

so i took
Tractor Stele
with a tractor Glaive.

73pts

won all four rounds

Armies:
: 500

: 4500pts

Imperial Knight: x3 (2 gw Knights and 1 converted Acheron knight, wasn't going to pay Forgeworlds price.)

I feel like this format needs to exploit the high-PS generics that imperials have:

Glaive squadron TIE defender: juke, x7 title

Royal guard TIE interceptor: PTL, title, AT, stealth

TIE phantom/TLT aggressor/TIEsf/etc?

Like, what does the list in the OP do once the autoblaster goes down? That TIE interceptor is going to solo what is left and it isn't even going to be close. And good luck keeping up with a TIE defender when all you have is generics.

This. The Royal Guards are stupid in a generics-only format.

I read a review of this format that basically concluded that while it may feel better than the standard 100/6 tournament setup, it's not actually that much more balanced per se; instead, it just flips the faction hierarchy from "Rebel > Scum > Imperial" to "Imperial > Scum > Rebel".

For sure, high PS arc dodgers are going to be a force to be reckoned with. That's why I was also debating between the Resistance Sympathizer YT-1300 (it has its three dice base attack, with either a Rec Spec or Weapons Engineer, something like that. The TLT is also a possible response. You'll eventually get lucky, hopefully.

Not quite sure about the TIE Phantom, it is very reliant on dice for its defence, less on tokens, unless you went all out. Which you can, I guess. But yes, the Defender and the Interceptor are worrisome.

This could lower the difficulty factor in dealing with arc dodgers, but the serious lack of green dice will not make for very long fights...

Bombardier (1)
Conner Net (4)
Cluster Mines (4)
Advanced SLAM (2)

Lothal Rebel (35)

Adaptability and Clusters... Rather than PTL on the Interceptor?

Actually i hadn't thought about that. i was going for the higher PS instead of the reposition stress that Fel benefits from

If you're in trouble, being able to use both actions to reposition might be better than higher PS and hoping you read your opponent right. You have great greens on that dial.

General question: in that format, are you better with AT/Stealth on an Interceptor, or, if you're splurging on PTL, might AT/Targeting Computer be a better combo?
