Hi guys,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I think you guys can help me out with a non modelling paint job I need to do.

I have attacked pictures of some bowls, I need to change the colour of the lettering on them. As you can see it’s very small, so any advice on how I could get this done? If even possible.

I’ve used a pen in the photos for scale.

Really appreciate any help.

Material? Reason? One-off or many?
Details are helpful.

It’s a very hard plastic. Reason is it makes it easier to see amongst other bowls when playing.

The writing is quite deep, probably 1mm.

Just the 2 bowls I need to paint.

Thanks for replying.

Slather on acrylic paint then wipe it off leaving the paint in the recesses.
Buff the black up to a lovely sheen.
Should take a couple of minutes.

Thanks! Did think of that was just worried it’s would still leave some kind of permenant mark on there. Suppose I could do a tiny test patch and wipe off quickly, then do one letter at a time after.

Can you recommend any acrylic paints you think would be suitable?

Any acrylic paint should do. You'll use so little on that project that cost shouldn't be an issue so just grab whatever is readily available to you in a small quantity.
Games workshop, vallejo, P3 are all options or just grab a tube from your local art supplies store.

I’ve found some online for a good price so I’ll order that!

I’ll need a brush too, should I get the smallest one available? Or will this just take too long to apply paint with, meaning it dries in Between?

I would use enamel paint to fill it. You don't even need a brush, just a tooth pick or something similar. Cover the letters with the paint, let them dry for a a few minutes, wipe the excess paint away with a rag dampened with enamel thinner. It's the same method I use for filling in roll marks on firearm receivers:

China pencil or enamel paint is great at filling lettering like this.
