Hey guys, I decided to put together a space marines army list to try at the store and got totally destroyed a few times before giving up. Here's the list; all comments criticism and feedback will be massively appreciated.

Primaris Lieutenant - Vanilla
Elites:
Apothecary
Company Ancient
Troops:
Tactical Squad - Plasma Cannon

Devestator Squad - 4X Heavy Flamer
Devestator Squad - 4X Missile Launcher
Flyer:
Xiphon Interceptor
Dedicated Transport:
Razorback - Asscannon
Razorback - Asscannon
Razorback - Lascannon
Razorback - Lascannon
Lord of War:
Roboute Guilliman
Overall it is a Spearhead, a Battalion, and an Outrider Detahment. Plus Bobby G it gives me 11 Command Points total. Know that this is a chunk above 2000 but we agreed on about 2300 or 2200 or something like that. Anyway, I've been using the army like this: Both Razorbacks with Asscannons push forward with the Captain, and the Ancient, plus the Heavy Flamer and a Tactixal Squad as a suicide unit, cutting the enemy down before dying to something. The lascannon razorbacks will be with the missile launcher devestator Squad and another tactical, along with the librarian, and apothecary. These will shoot at enemy tanks and MC's and the such in lieu with the lascannon devestators. Bobby G will roll with them to give them rerolls. The remaining tactical Squad and the lieutenant sits back and camps on objectives, while the first turn ends. On second turn, expectation is that most devestators and tactical that made up the spearhead that dove into enemies will be mostly dead, with one reason back still alive at a wound bracket. Then, the 15 Assault marines and captain drop in and charge the juicy back bits of the army, using command points to reroll charges. The Xiphon pops from the back as well, and Lascannons some of the other things that were wounded but not dead. Turn three, push with the lascannon razorbacks and take more objectives. Continue as expected.
The problem I've been getting is that the central column sent in first fails to do anything, normally removing the likes of say 10 Poxwallers, or Guardsmen, or the like, then dying anyway from massed fire. Thus, a portion of my army is gone or in very bad shape, which leaves me to deal with the same amount of troops with severely depleted forces. Then, the Lascannons never manage to wound things sufficiently, with most vehicles or creatures on the other side ending up at least OK. Then, I can't effectively attack them or capture objectives because their number now outnumbers me much more severely than before. Should I drop things and go with others? Feedback please!

I know you have some competitive units like Bobby G and the razorbacks but I can't speak to how good assault marines or devastators with heavy flamers are. It sounds like you have a tactical problem though. Why send in 1/3 of your army for it to be killed and then send in another 1/3? If you are going to close in it's better to do so with maximum numbers so that they don't have enough firepower to kill you. Bobby G is a beast in CC and should go in with the attack.

Ok. Should I drop the heavy flamer devs for another lascannon squad and add in a few more tacticals? I'll drop the Assault marines? Or should I just replace with las, keep them safe, and then keep the assault marines and just drop them close and advance with bobby?

1. Your assumed mileage with assault marines seem too high.
2. Play the 24" rule. Stop sending your units into their double tap range.
3. Trading two LRC for the assault squads, captain with JP and two razorback with LC will yield you better spearhead

What's LC? Can't seem to view the yellow text.

LC is lascannon. You currently have three pronged approach where none of your prongs are particularly damaging.
Committing 2/3 of your forces using two LRC will yield better alpha strike of your current play style.

Ok. So I'll drive the Land raider crusaders into the centres. Should I also add tactical into the land raiders?
