Box missing bases, what do?

I bought an older box (2008) of Chaos Warhounds, and it only has 5 of the 10 bases it should come with. Should I just toss the 5 out and buy modern biker bases, or should I find another alternative? Can I call for a fix from GW? Or is that a laughable attempt?

One of my friends got two boxes of thousand sons from 2008 and were missing stuff. GW happily replaced them anyways. I'd say ring them up.

Email gw and they will replace them. Their customer service is top notch.

If it wasn't bought second hand, it should be GW's responsibility that you get what you paid for. It being an older kit shouldn't matter.

I presume buying it through a non-GW store counts as second hand?

If it's a legit store it's not second hand, even if it's not a GW store.

Second hand generally means from a private, non-commercial owner.

Gotcha. So just contact GW directly and they'll send me replacements?

Yes. If you buy from my (non-GW) FLGS, it's not second hand.

If you buy from me it's second hand, even if the box is new.

You might need to submit info from the box, like batch number and so forth. They also sometimes ask for photos of the contents, so best not to start clipping until you have the replacements in hand (even if they're unrelated).

I have the box, the unopenned pack of bases...But I only noticed I didnt have a second package of bases till AFTER I had assembled my wolves. Hopefully the spruces, base packet and box is enough.

I wonder purchased a box of vampire counts riders. It was missing one half of one of the horses. They replaced the whole box. Absolutely top notch customer service.

Bases are cheap and easy to replace. If I were GW, I'd make the replacement without hesitation. No one's going to try to scam GW out of a few plastic bases, so there's little reason for mistrust.

sprues are enough. I had an issue with a box of Destroyers after I assembled one and they still sent the replacements (I was missing the green rods).

EDIT: They really just care about the batch number on the box, if they care at all.

I would buy modern biker bases regardless.
