Impulse bought metallic orange from vallejo today(vallejo premium, 62.043 if you need to know) as i realy liked the colour, it is water based and it can be used whit a brush or airbrush , but it was only when i arrived home that it struck me; i have no idea how to shade it as i have never painted orange before.

so any tips?
all i can think of is gw nuln oil, but i feel it will make it look muddy, too dark and dirty.

Like a brick red color or purple red. Wash it with either.

Look at the GW shades for starters, I'd say Agrax Earthshade / Reikland Fleshshade / Seraphim Sepia / Fuegan Orange depending on the effect you're trying to achieve...

I'd suggest probably getting one of their Gloss shades, to avoid dulling it down too much.
