I think that since John Blanche is such a fixture of the GW art style a new book by him is news worthy (thanks to Hasslefree minis posting about it on facebook)

I'm a sucker for these kinds of cloth artbooks, but old art + A4 size + 40 pages for the price they (he?) are asking is steep

Old art? I'm pretty sure we've only seen some of these before, and those as low-res images on his Instagram page.

Regardless, I'm a sucker for JB's style and for artbooks I can actually hold and flick through, even if images on a screen are probably more convenient as references. Looks like I might have to drop something from my purchase schedule to grab this.

Just a shame GW refuse to release this kind of thing any more.

Drop a PM to Mad Doc Grotsnik and hook up with his anti scalping group, apparently the Eldar sketchbook can be ordered in 'unlimited' quantities now during GW stores birthday celebrations and his network may well be able to hook you up

Worth keeping an eye on it still there's certainly a chance that whoever it is might be able to get more (or one or more of the buyers backs out which given this is ebay is not impossible)

Hard to say if they will run off more. On John's Facebook feed he has been rather taken aback by how quickly they sold and he expected to sell fifty the first day and more for a week or so then have lots left over. BUT...

It was so private it didn't even fo through a publishing company - PayPal payments went to Alan Merrett.

I wish I had bought two now! Though that sort of profit-making feels a bit dirty.

They published a John Blanche/Ian Miller artbook back in the day called Ratspike. It is glorious. I met Ian Miller at a Gallery Opening in Brighton and got him to sign mine.

(Then I bought a £150 banner he did and he signed that too. I was just looking at it today. We are redocrating and my girlfriend doesn't want me to hang it in the spare bedroom. I told her it can take pride of place in the lounge. She was not keen on that, either.)

Considering the success of the Eldar sketch book, and the index apocrypha, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more non game related books from gw.
