So after a lot of planning I got a sizable Primaris Marine force (1 DI, 2 KnF) and was originally gonna paint them up to match my own custom chapter, but then I had second thoughts after seeing the Sons of Horus colors and was thinking of making them a new chapter who's geneseed is originally that of Horus (because Cawl).

Thing is, I also have some Space Wolves and a lot of extra bits. I was thinking of maybe adding them to the Primaris Marines since the Sons of Horus were originally the Luna Wolves and had some wolf motifs as well, but a lot of the wolf things (namely the helmets I wanna use) have distinctly Space Wolves runes (which the Sons never had).

So would this be a good idea or would the wolves iconography be a little much? (especially the wolf bones and whatnot). Luna Wolves, from the artwork I've seen, wore wolf pelts more like fancy trim rather than trophies and didn't have that many wolf trinkets otherwise.

A few trinkets here and there would be fine. Primaris are mostly freshly forged and unadorned, so probably sergeants and veterans and such.

Id say keep them mostly clean too.

Add wolfy wolf bits to the sergeants and characters. maybe a few bits and bobs to tie in some of the chump marines.

I may do some sculpted fur and helmet swaps on sergeants and the lieutenants then.
