Hi Guys,

Basically as the title says, have any of you none-Blood angel space marine players used a BAAL predator in an "astartes" or even "imperium" keyword army?

I love the model, and love the idea of a flamer tank to use with my imperial fists. So wondered if anybody has done this before.

Also a more broader question which i assume some BA players can answer; how effective is the flamer variant?

thanks

All versions are highly overcosted atm, making them ineffective.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the case more or less across the board, with any flamer-like weapon.

If you're interested in a flamer tank for imperial fists you might consider the relic deimos version from forgeworld. The infernus cannon is extremely dangerous if you can get it into range of things. It comes to just over 180 points, if you give it flamer sponsons.

I think flamer tanks are pretty questionable. The difficulty is that they have to go near to the enemy, where they are at a lot of risk. It's often better to get the same results by using massed dakka from a safe distance.

BA Player here.

Similar thoughts/opinions.

They have to get too close to do their thing. At which point they are vulnerable to charges from units that either begin their charge out of range, or worse, in places where they can't fire overwatch (since really the whole point is to make it fall back so it can't shoot).

I think they are awesome but too expensive myself. They are razorbacks with better armor / toughness (however you want to say it) with built in anti charge weapons. But to use them this way costs way too much.

Here is hoping it gets better. I want to start a small chapter with 3 of these guys one day...

Shame to hear they are not so good. Not that it will stop me using one or anything.

looking forward to building an imperial fists trench clearing battering ram!
