Good Day Dakka-ites,

I have been out since early 7th ed. Can someone tell me how many shots Astra Militarum with Steel Legion get with First Rank Fire Second Rank Fire? Don't they get a Rapid Fire 2 boost already? How does that work with FRFSRF? Thank you.

Steel legion's unique doctrine bonus makes them shoot rapid fire out to 18". Their lasguns are normal, but rapid fire at 18". If their lasguns become rapid fire 2, they are rapid fire 2, and rapid fire at 18".

I had the same knee jerk reaction when I read their stuff. If you carefully read the whole sentence it doesn't double your shots it's simply a close of extending your laz guns range.

FRFSRF does apply. They become Rapid Fire 2 and trigger double shots (so four each) at 18" as opposed to 12".

I think thats what he was finding unclear, basically steel legion fire 1 shot at 18.1-24" with lasguns, or 2 with frfsrf.
They fire 2 shots at 1-18" range, 4 shots with frfsrf
