Simple two questions. Are WB good with Khorne, and is Ritual summoning viable even with their stratagem, or is it still better to just start daemons on board if I go CSM/Daemons?

As good as anyone. I've not seen much excitment about Khorne daemons this edition.

Probably better to deploy unless you can take advantage of the flexibility.

There was a good few posts in the Chaos Tactica thread about summoning. I really want it to work, but the lack of the ability to move for the character is really frustrating. Consider that you've spent the first turn moving said Character into position (or deep striking them into position). Earliest they can summon is Turn 2. Assuming you get the roll you want to get your unit down on Turn 2, the odds of them getting a successful charge isn't great, so figure on it being Turn 3 before they're able to do anything. Meanwhile Turn 2 your character has been rooted to the spot. Can't move again in Turn 3 if you failed to get the summoning roll you desired or you want to bring down another unit.

Of course, daemons are fragile, so if they're forced to walk up the board, they're also going to be shot to pieces if your opponent decides they don't like the look of them.

I'm a Word Bearer player myself, and I tend to agree with others who have discussed the subject before us - take a seperate detachment (as including Daemons in the primary CSM detachment will cause you to lose your Legion benefits as they lack the <legion> keyword) and deploy them on the board. I'm hopeful that the daemon book will have a stratagem that allows them to deep strike without needing to be summoned, might help things.

For my WBs I prefer to go the possessed route. Technically still daemons, just in a power armor can.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
