So, once and for all, how are you supposed to play this rule?

"Each time you make a hit roll of 6+ for a model in that unit, that model can immediately shoot again with the same weapon at the same target"

Does this mean it shoots the gun again like it says?

1. If a heavy 3 weapon gets a 6, does it gets 3 bonus shots?
2. If a rapid fire 2 lasgun is rapid firing and rolls a 6, does it get 1, 2 or 4 extra shots?
3. If a heavy D6 weapon like the mortal gets a 6, does it get D6 bonus shots?

4. If you roll six sixes on your mortar, do you get 6D6 bonus shots?

Or do you simply get '1' bonus shot (a roll of a dice) in all scenarios? I can't really see why it would go like that though, but I want to see what this forum says about this.

"Shoot again" means a full round of shooting. If a Heavy 3 weapon gets a 6, it gets 3 more shots. You can potentially get a LOT of shots, but it's rare and otherwise a weak doctrine compared to stuff like the catachans. Random explosiveness vs consistency.

It's like Noise Marines and grenades. You MIGHT get 6D6 shots off, but it's an astronomically small chance.

What if I fire a Punisher?


A heavy bolter has a nearly 50/50 chance of firing 6 shots - and about a 25% chance of shooting 9....

Stratagem only works on Infantry, so it's a non issue. It can get silly with Grenades or Grenade Launchers, but since it's the same rule as the Noise Marines, and no-one seems to have a problem with that.

This stratagem works really, really well with the Grenadiers stratagem. 10D6 grenades, with D6 more grenades for every hit roll of a 6. That's would be crazy. Combine with a Sabre searchlight for maximum sillyness.

If go deeper, you can add some sweet Forge World's defence searchlight, for +1 to hit rolls, so stratagem procs on 5+.

Also, that wording, if i am correct, says EACH TIME you roll 6+... so go git better, and do the shootiest dakka in the universe, potentially poking your enemy with 20 lasgun shots PER MODEL.

(Its on average something like 90+ successful hits in tota from the ten men squard in rapid fire range)

What about flamers. Since they automatically hit, can I roll the dice anyway and have the rolls of 5/6 get MOAR FIAR

Do you roll to hit with a flamer? No. Stratagems procs on each 6+ TO HIT.
