I'm trying to figure out if these are worth it and, if so, which one's going to be the best for what job.
Traktor Kannons are cool in theory, but in practice they just seem like they're not going to be as good as regular kannons - They're more expensive, against most enemies Kannons are going to cause more damage, and against their ideal enemy, Traktor Kannons... They get a gimmick rule that's nifty, but aren't going to be any better at actually bringing down the flier itself. (Plus they lack a 'Anti-infantry fire', not that the anti-infantry fire is any good.) Traktor Kannons are more durable, buuut... Who cares?

Lobbas just don't have enough shots to put out meaningful damage. Against T3 5+ models sitting in cover, (Conscripts, etc,) you're getting a whopping half a wound.

Zzap guns are novel and pretty neat, but because it's a 3 damage weapon as opposed to d6, that means it's competing for space with Tankbustas, and even though it gets -3 AP instead of -2, and has the potential for higher strength, it's just not gonna win that fight in competing for a niche.

Bubblechukkas are cool until you roll a 1 and get one shot, or one Strength. Since you're rolling four dice, you're bound to lose on at least one of those rolls.

Kustom Mega Kannons aren't awful and actually fill a niche that isn't otherwise taken care of by a similar unit, but that's not to say that they're good - Averaging 1.75 hits means you're maaaybe killing one 2w enemy with above-average dice per turn, which just isn't good enough to make me really excited about them.

Lastly, Smasha Guns! These guys are nice, in that they have Ap-4 which will completely deny a 3+ save to most vehicles, but their weird 2d6 strength means that they actually average to about Strength 7.5 - Better than S7 but worse than S8. (Only they fail worse against T10+ and succeed better against T2-3... But who's shooting them at T2-3 models?)

So has anyone found a good use for these?

Ork guns are not there to actually shoot but to score backfield. Shooting is just a neat little bonus. I usually field kannons or zzap guns. They tend to do ok. Tried kmk and a bubblechukka. Both were fine if a bit overpriced. Bubblechukka is a lot of fun. It's like a mini-game. It's prone to either doing nothing or one-shotting something meaningful.

There is a very particular reason not to take most artillery, including, orks The gun and the crew are each a KP, for purposes like maelstrom or just good ol missions with KPs its a huge problem. Taking 6 lobbas is suddenly adding 12 (Heavy support mind you for big guns) KPs into your list.

Aftermath can be calculated.

that's a good reason not to play eternal war missions. They're positively outdated.

I use artilley quite often, KMKs most of the times. But I've also tried zaap guns and kannons, which are decent too. Never fielded lobbas in this edition, IMHO they are extremely overcosted but they can be decent as well to be honest if you put them out of line of sight. Bubblechukkas are the most expensive mek gunz and too random, I'd skip them completely, and smasha gunz are basically overcosted zaap gunz, I'd skip them as well. Traktors were nice in 7th edition, now they're useless.

Artillery won't wreck armored stuff, even if you bring tons of it. But they're an effective objective holders and they provide a little anti tank firepower, which is always welcome.

I usually bring lots of T5-T8 though, so the artilley matches quite good.
