I am wanting to run a combined ADMech and Tempestus army to fight my friends (no tourneys). Is the below a good way to start? No shipping for any of it, its local.

$170 for the Battleforce Box (NIB)
$65 for the Start Collecting Box (NIB)
Free (if you buy the lot) or $30 Codex. From the PIC it looks like an 8e Codex

He also has Belisarious Cawl for $15

Thank you!!

It is a good deal. ALthough I should point out that the current 8E AdMech Codex has the same cover art as the Skitarii 7e codex, so take a good look at it. Still, even without the codex it's a good deal.

EDIT: Also I would get all of it if you are planning an AdMech army, as between the battleforce, start collecting and Cawl, you have almost every single possible unit you can field from the codex (the only ones missing are the Techpriest Enginseer and Imperial Knights).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Okay thanks. I went and priced out the individual sets you get in the Battleforce box and its about 220 bucks on miniature market.

I also did some googling and I read some posts on Reddit and a few other places that the Battleforce box is not the best because of the priest figures (when compared to the other Battleforce boxes). Some said to just get 2 Start Collecting boxes.

Below is the codex..I think its the 8e one?

Yup that's the one. The Skitarii one has the same cover art, but different border and reads "SKITARII" at the bottom. But if the image was not clear, it could be mistaken for the current dex.

Yes, that's a good deal, I'm waiting for the day they eventually re-release the Battleforce box myself. Priests were crappy in the previous edition, now they're really good when played in units of 10-20, and with the Stygies Stratagem you can infiltrate them to get closer to the enemy. There's also chances we'll finally have a transport with the book Fires of Cyraxus next year so they'll be a must have.
