First, hopefully this isn’t forbidden; I didn’t see a prohibition in this forum’s rules.

I’d like to try using an Eldar Hemlock in a battle or two before committing to buy one (oh yeah, and paint one). I want to bring something about the same size so I can get an idea how it sits on the table and of course how it plays.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a cheap proxy or another solution?

An AOS Elf dragon is what I'm going to use as a conversion base for an Exodite army. Maybe not that useful a suggestion, mind, but it's all I think of when I think of the Hemlock now.

Edit: maybe make a cardboard template?

Yeah, while not attractive...if you're going to do 1-3 games, just knock a proxy up out of cardboard and tube.

print out a top-down view of the thing, glue it to a piece of cardstock, cut it out, and stick it on a pole and a base roughly the height and size of one of those flying bases.

If you're thinking of purchasing one, I see no reason why something simple would be refused as a proxy.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

As a player I would have zero problem with this

Ditto - Hell, if I had one I'd offer to let my opponent borrow it for the game, or something similar if I had one that I wasn't fielding.
