Hello! I have been out of the hobby for a long time but have played several armies from 4th through most of 6th edition. I've recently caught the plastic crack fever and have been toying with the idea to get my armies out of storage. This is the first list I've written for 8th edition so please critique away. I plan on restoring/repainting the army so will likely start out with smaller games so below I will also list my 500/1000/1500 lists in broad strokes to see if anyone has any ideas. I'm mostly clueless as far as relics and warlord traits go, but I think I have an idea of which craftworld attributes I want. (Also really fuming over the state of the Autarch's wargear so any ideas for him would be appreciated) I don't feel like its a cheesy list though with all the different craftworld attributes, others might not think the same way. I have a custom paint scheme anyway so I don't think it should be an issue. Anyway, here is the list:

Craftworld Eldar Battalion (Alaitoc):

-Farseer, Guide, Doom, Witchblade-100
-Warlock, Conceal/Reveal, Witchblade-35

-Guardian Defenders (10) w/ Scatter Laser-95
-Guardian Defenders (10) w/ Scatter Laser-95
-Rangers (5)-60

-Dark Reapers (4+1) Exarch w/ Reaper Launcher-135
-Dark Reapers (4+1) Exarch w/ Reaper Launcher-135

Craftworld Eldar Battalion (Biel-Tan):

-Autarch, Forceshield, Plasma Grenades, Star Glaive-77 (Don't really know how to feel about this yet)
-Spiritseer, Empower/Enervate-45 (Probably a waste since I don't have any wraiths, but the statline compared to a warlock is enough to justify the 10 points)

-Dire Avengers (4+1) Exarch, Dual Shuricats-64
-Dire Avengers (4+1) Exarch, Dual Shuricats-64
-Storm Guardians (8) 6x Chainsword, 2x flamer-74

Craftworld Eldar Vanguard (Ulthwe):

-Warlock, Protect/Jinx, Singing Spear-40

-Fire Dragons (4+1) Exarch, Dragon's Breath Flamer-120
-Fire Dragons (4+1) Exarch, Dragon's Breath Flamer-120
-Striking Scorpions (6+1) Exarch, Biting Blade, Shuriken Pistol-109

-Warp Spiders (4+1) Exarch, Dual Spinners-98
-Warp Spiders (4+1) Exarch, Dual Spinners-98

-Wave Serpent, Twin Shuricannon, Shuricannon, Vectored Engines-144
-Wave Serpent, Twin Shuricannon, Shuricannon, Vectored Engines-144
-Wave Serpent, Twin Shuricannon, Shuricannon, Vectored Engines-144
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basic Plan is the Alaitoc Detachment castles up on a home objective, laying down dark reaper fire, supported by my farseer, warlock will conceal, rangers spread out to deny drops
Dire Avengers and Fire Dragons Share wave serpents, stormies go in the other serpent, backed up by the autarch and spiritseer
Scorpions infiltrate close to something juicy
Spiders drop in and converge on scorpions with the wave serpents, hopefully causing some chaos
Not sure what to do with the jinx warlock, either drop him in near the scorpions with a CP or have him ride up in a wave serpent

Here also are the smaller lists for consideration:

500-
battalion:
farseer, warlock, 2x dire avenger (5), ranger (5), warp spider (5), Dark reapers (3)

1000-
battalion:
farseer, warlock, dire avenger (5), guardians (10+ScatLas), rangers (5), fire dragons (5), scorpions (5), spiders (5), dark reapers (3), war walkers (2 scatlas), serpent

1500-
battalion:
farseer, warlock, 2x dire avenger (5), Guardian (10+scatlas), rangers (5), 2x warp spiders (5), 2x dark reapers (4)
vanguard:
warlock, 2x fire dragon (5), scorpions (7), 2x wave serpent

I have quite a few extra models sitting around, but I don't think I'm going to be buying too much to start
Models I have:
40 guardians with 4x scatter laser platforms
15 storm guardians 2 w/ flamers, 2 w/ fusion
30 Dire Avengers w/ various exarchs
15 fire dragons w/ various exarchs
25 Warp Spiders w/ 3 mono-pose exarchs
10 Striking Scorpions w/ 2 exarchs (1 claw 1 biting blade)
7 Banshees w/ exarch
10 Dark Reapers w/ 2 exarchs
3x War Walker double scatter laser
5ish warlocks on foot
2 or 3 foot farseers
1 bonesinger (I think i still have it, heard he got some rules but I haven't seen them yet)
4 Converted foot Autarchs w/ various weapons (plus one with a WJJ)
1 busted wraithlord
1 Crimson Hunter in poor conditions
5 Wave Serpents (all Scatter laser/Shuricannon)

And I think thats it. If I were going to buy anything, it would probably be jetbikes or vypers of some variety, but I don't have much interest in wraith stuff.
I'm open to any and all suggestions as long as they aren't "go buy 3 Hemlocks!"

Your list is in generally solid territory, with a lot of CPs.

In what meta will you be playing? Tourneys? GW local stores? Garage games?

Spider ex: does it have a Claw?

Spiritseer: Yeah, he's a little wasted without wraiths to support, so go with a WarL instead. Those 10 points could be a WaveSerp upgrade.

Different factions:
I suggest to be sure to get some reasonably clear paint distinctions on factions, like shoulder pads all green for Biel-tan. Or maybe a yellow & blue chevron for Iyanden, etc. So opponents know who is who and which traits apply.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I'll be going to local stores, I can't imagine I'm up for a tourney after so long lol. I'm not really sure of the meta as I haven't been to a store in some time, but back in the day my lgs were all at least decently competitive.

I think the list actually has 4 points left over, so i toyed with giving one squad of spiders the powerblades unless theres somewhere better those points could go.

Im definitely going to downgrade the spiritseer to a warlock, I was on the fence before but now I'm sold.

That should leave me 14 points i believe, if i don't take the powerblades. So maybe another scorpion, or i could swap 2 wave serpents to scatter lasers and give them CTM to move and shoot, but I'm not sure if thats worth it.

I will make sure to visually differentiate my detachments one way or another, I'll have to decide with some paint in front of me.

Any ideas on relics or warlord traits? I'm thinking of giving my Autarch Thicket of Blades trait, and my biel-tan warlock could get the relic spirit stone, but I'm not really sure

Play in tourneys. I was in pick up games at the LGS for a long time, but it was always too hit-or-miss to catch games or get my play quality consistent. Find a tourney? Guaranteed 3 games in a day? Sign on.

Even when I went 0-3 for months, I was still having fun.

I don't have the codex (index, yes) so I'm not able to advise on traits or relics. Yet.
