Hey ALL!

I want to get your opinion on how to start a NL army. I'm more interested in the modelling part (aka what models/sets should I get?), but I'd also like to hear how NL plays at the 8th edition.
I have the DG part of the DI set, thinking about altering them to be more NLish. Did anyone do that before? Is it even worth it? Couldnt find anything on the internet. Maybe papa nurgle infested my google hearing this blasphemy
Anyways I'd like to hear your advice.

Thanks in advance!

P.S.
Sry if I posted this at the wrong place

Night Lords CT favor making CQC casualties. Raptors, Talons, Bikes, and Spawn.

I also built Night Lord havocs which are fun and helpful but dont really gain anything from the CT.

Modeling is all up to you. My own NL army has old metal Bat wing helms (love them), Skull masks, and beakie helmets exclusively. The HH models might look good kitbashed with the CSM set.

My own personal head canon has been that Night Lords and Death Guard would have no issues working together, both adopting the true Angels of Death motifs led by the most literal grim dark primarchs. And its just asking for a Night of the living Dead theme.

Was the main theme for my Death Lords army in 7th.

Agree with above, Raptors work very well for Night Lords purely because of the stacking morale debuff. Other than that, anything that gets in close works well.

Personal favourites in my lists are Heldrakes with baleflamers and a pair of Maulerfiends with lasher tendrils.

Other than that, a Lord with the claws of the black hunt and a Jump sorcerer can't hurt every now and then.

It would be pretty easy to pop some raptor turbines on those DeathGuard models and make Nurgle Raptors. They have to be Nurgle to get the Icon of Despair for that triple whammy on morale debuffs anyway. The basic Deathguard loadout is pretty similar to raptors as well. Just run plasma or melta and leave the starter sergeant’s weapons the same. Run the Lord of Contagion as a Sorcerer, and you have 2 units right there for deepstriking.
