Tried the GW colors and didn't care for the look. Stripping the mini's and giving it another shot. Going for the more true bone white look as seen in this image

The problem with the GW scheme is it looks more yellowy custard than bone. Any suggestions?

keep in mind I will be painting the armor with an airbrush and using oil washes for the recesses. Don't care what brand of paints, not overly attached to any of them but I prefer Vallejo. Thank you for any suggestions.

The best scheme I've seen used rakarth flesh and palid witch to highlight, with bestial/mournfang brown in the recesses. Looked far meaner, and lost the cartoony look that deathwing can suffer from.

If I remember rightly (I'd have to dig my WIP thread out, it's on here somewhere)...

Black undercoat. Zenithal pass with VMA Hemp, VMA Sand Yellow, VMA Sand, VGC Ivory.

Spot washes with agrax (devlan mud).

Edges with VGC Ivory.

Glaze with mix of black and sand for a warmish grey to smooth speckles in deep shade.
