Hello,
I've decided to get back into 8th edition (used to play 2nd and 3rd I think). I'm playing the simple rules you can print off the website and scrabbling together points costs and rules from websites and some of my old datasheets, just to learn the rules of the new edition.
I'm planning on getting a couple of codex and the Dark Imperium box set with the BRB at Christmas, whilst I paint my armies up.
When GW release errata, faq and amendments, do they alter the codex or rule books, or at least produce a pamphlet with the changes? Do they have stickers to alter the books? Do they amend the online pdf versions either?
I ask because I'd be less inclinded to actually buy the codex books if they are out of date, even months after they've come out. I seem to remember in the past that when a rule was changed (which was probably rarer then), the new codex books had a sticker that you could put over the old one. It's a bit crude, but it's the only way to alter already printed books (I used to do it in Argos when there were price changes, when I was a Christmas troll working there many, many moons ago).
If not, is the only option to buy the codex... and take along any errata and chapter approved (when it comes out)? Or can I rely on GW altering the later prints of their books?
