I’ve been painting warhammer 40k space wolves for 2-3 years and now finally got group to play. Wrote out a list and want some input. Never played going off videos I’ve seen. Also let me know if i did the points wrong. Be easy. Thanks

141 Ragnar Blackmane
133 Ulrik the slayer
167 njal stormcaller in Runic Terminator Armour
140 Arjac rockfish
120 greyhunters x7 (wolf standard, power axe, plasma pistol)
123 greyhunters x7 (power axe, plasma pistol, plasma gun)
96. Wolf scouts x5 (x5 camo cloaks, x4 sniper rifles, heavy bolter)
200 long fangs x5 (ldr- frost axe and Melta gun)(plasma cannon, x2 missile launchers, multi Melta)
414 wolf guard terms x8 (x4 thunder ham and storm shield, chain fist and storm bolt, duel claws, assault cannon and storm shield ,storm bolter and storm shield)
107 venerable dread (heavy flamer)
114 dread (heavy flamer, multi Melta)
244. Land raider crusader.

Total 1999

My theory is Ragnar, Ulrik and all 14 GH in land raider to assault. Snipers in cover picking off targets. Long fangs dealing with heavy support. Then terminators, Arjac, and njal teleporting in. Njal using ability to help them get in close. Then dreads going where ever needed. Never have played so just building off a theory. Let me know. Thanks.

Here's how to build a list: Don't use space wolves. Use ULTRAMARINES. For fun though this is perfectly fine. I'd drop the terminators and a few characters to bare minimum tho, as no codex equals no good rules. Too pricey both for what they do. Take some more bodies you'll need the meat. Also I'm pretty sure only the Morris dreadnought can take two long ranged weapons and they have to be the same so check if that's legal or not. Don't take land raiders, you get more with razorspam. Drop the axes on the grey hunters, get more plasma like a plasma pistol double for the sarge. Your long fangs are really unfocused. Go either 4X missile launcher, or 4X lascannon. Multi melta is terrible in this edition.

So basically drop terminators and the teleporting characters to bare minimum, drop the land raider, take the points to buy troops razorbacks and lascannons, then check rules for the dread. From my experience taking a knight is also helpful against the big enemies, but using the points taking razorbacks' is just as good.

Adepta Sororitas: 3,800 Points
Adeptus Custodes: 8,100 Points
Adeptus Mechanicus: 8,400 Points
Alpha Legion: 4,400 Points
Astra Militarum: 7,500 Points
Dark Angels: 16,800 Points
Imperial Knights: 12,500 Points
Legio Titanicus: 5,500 Points
Slaaneshi Daemons: 3,800 Points

Did you include the weapon cost on your Land Raider. I believe 244 is the base cost.

This is the worst advice I've ever seen.

If the OP likes SW he should play SW, not SM and definitely not ultramarines. Ultramarines gunlines are extremely boring, anyone that isn't a childish power player would sell the army after 3 games.

SW are a fantastic army, the original list is even ok for casual games. I'd just cut a couple of HQs for wolf guard bikers or thunderwolves. Bring 3x5 grey hunters instead of 2x7, you can gain +1CP with the battallion and they will also be more versatile.

Spotted the quitter! Not exactly wrong.. But winning the uphill battle is nice all the same! But anyway..

The list seems a little mis-matched to me, struggling to see what detatchments it fits into. I'll try to break my opinion into points below;

i) Having a single Tank on the board basically means it dies instantly. While the crusader is probably best it simply won't last, more so if you are going 2nd.
ii) From my exprience, terminators rarely survive on 1 would to be healed, dropping a mixed team of 5 with Njal is viable (they work best as a mixed shooting/combat squad). They are durable, but D2+ weapons are plentiful.
iii) Some of your untis are missing weapons (dread for example)
iv) Wolves have some amazing access to plasma, use it!

My suggested list below, if you can get it! Trying to use what you already have. It's worth noting that 3-4 grey hunter squads with razorbacks(AC's) make a strong core to any list, allowing you to really change it if you feel like it!

HQ
Njal stormcaller in Runic Terminator Armour (138)
Arjac Rockfist (140)
Wolf Lord - Plasma Pistol, Frost Sword (88)

Troops
5* Grey Hunters + 1 Wolf Guard Pack Leader - Plasma, 2* Plasma Pistol (118)
5* Grey Hunters + 1 Wolf Guard Pack Leader - Plasma, 2* Plasma Pistol (118)
5* Grey Hunters - Plasma, Plasma Pistol, Combi Plasma (90) [Lord goes here]

Elite
5* Wolf Scouts - Plasmagun, Plasma Pistol, Camo Cloaks (90)
Venerable Dread w/Lascannon and Great Wolf Claw w/Heavy Flamer (182)
5* Wolf Guard Terminators - 2 w/Storm Bolter + Storm Shield, 1 w/Assault Cannon, Frost Sword, 1 w.Frost Sword,Storm Shield, Leader w/Storm Bolter and Frost Sword (218)

Heavy Support
5* Long Fangs - 4 Lascannon (175)

This comes to 1357 points. I've not provided af full 2000 list as it may be down to preferance. The remaining 643 points can be used for a few thigns, personally I think it lacks speed to transports, Thunder Wolves or Bikes might be a good call. My personal favorite being Thunder Wolves with Wolf Claws and a Wolf Priest w/Jump Pack and Razorbacks.

HQ
Wolf Priest w/Jump Pack (112)

Fast Attack
3* Thunder Wolf Cavalry - 1 Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield on Leader, 2 Wolf Claw/Storm Shield (220)

Transports

Razorback - Twin Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter (102)
Razorback - Twin Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter (102)
Razorback - Twin Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter (102)

This lets you net 7CP aswell.

Any questions - let me know! But as far as tactics go, this list has a few dedicated units for problem areas and almost everything is great in close combat. A perfect set of additions might be Inquisitorial Psykers (Deny overwatch) or an assasin.

If you're a new player theory crafting a list. You can't go wrong with 2-3 start collecting boxes. It's even worth looking at 1d4chan as the tactics wiki can help.

Haha misunderstood. Was trolling it was a joke. From the response a very bad one, but I didn't mean for it to be taken literally.
