So i'm used to using the standard Testors model cement that comes in the tube, but today i decided to try the Testor's model cement in the black oddly shaped bottle, which has the built in applicator-But when i tested it out, the glue wasn't clear, but rather slightly pink/red. I just baught it from Michaels not more than an hour ago---Is it supposed to be slightly red/pink? Does it dry clear?

I havent used this type of model glue in years, since I was younger, but I could have sworn that it was clear and dried white-ish (as appose to the one that designed for plassic model windows, which is clear).

Is that what it's supposed to look like?

I don't know, does it work as normal? It could be that the colour is just there so you can see it better while applying it.

Does it really matter? If you're doing it right you aren't going to have any glue visible anyway, and any slight glue stains will be painted over. If the bond is good then don't worry about it.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I haven't bought any Testors glue in about 4 years (simply because the stuff lasts so long) but the last batch I bought was clear.

I've never bought a plastic cement that was anything but clear, don't know if Testors have changed their formula or something is wrong with your specific bottle though.

As long as it still works fine, you don't want something like people used to complain about GW glue where they'd glue together an army and down the track it'd be falling apart.

Maybe if Testors have a contact phone number/email address/street address you could contact them and ask.

The colouratoin might be there as an assist so you know where you've applied it. I've not bought the stuff in the bottle before, though I have used the classic red and white tube, before my more recent change to their Non Toxic in the Blue and White tube, which I will vouch for quite soundly - it's not offensive to the nose with a slightly citrus smell from the Limonene that it's based with, and it makes some really nice solid welds with the plastic.
