1x Carnifex 117
Monstrous Acid Maw, Spore Cyst, 4 Deathspitters with Brainleech Worms. Bone Mace

The list did not turn out quite as I wanted. The way I am reading it I am wasting points on 2 lictors, 1 Ripper Swarm (2 will grab objectives) and the 4 raveners. The Malanthrope also feels a bit redundant. Perhaps I should not be in a Brigade? I want to keep the warriors, I really like them.

The Malanthrope is good. I would trade that prime and your Raveners in for a Flyrant with 4x devourers. Keep the Brigade though. Our stratagems are amazing. Instead of the Raveners, toss a mucolid (or more regular spore mines) in there. I like the list otherwise. I also think that Jormungdr would be better for you than Leviathan. While the 6++ is advantageous in certain situations, Jormungdr would allow you to reserve the gants and bring them in with one of your Lictors. Costs 2 total CP, but then they never get shot before they can shoot. And isn’t that what a Brigade is for?

And don’t hate on the Lictors for objective grabbing/backfield harassment of a small objective sitting unit. It’s not obsec, but it’s relatively easy to hide, and not as easy to take down with like a normal tac squad or scouts as you might think.

Thank you for the reply.

I agree that Jormunghardr is entising. 2+ and 3+ is better then 3+/6+++ 4+/6+++ respectivly with a small amount. I do think I will find some terain as well as at some point be in CC. The warriors and prime, as well as once carnbifex willl eventually make it into CC.

You are wrong about the lictor trail though. The unit it brings back has to be able to reserve on their own. Gaunts do not currently do this. The lictor trail seems to be tailored to work with genestealers, cultist allies and oddly enough tervigon. Honerable mentioning Hydra stratgem. (Come to think of this, I might need to look closer at this stratagem. It can be very good.)

I agree that the ravaners might not be all that. I could perhaps change them and a carnifex for a tyranofex rupture cannon or exochrine. Although I feel like I am not playing to the tyranid strenghs then. I am a gunline/walking advance list. Other gunlines will probably shoot me of the board?

See “The Enemy Below”, the Jormungdr specific stratagem

Our gunline is unique in that we can threaten on both fronts. What other army has both a backfield gunline and units that are excellent at charging into opposing gunlines?

Alone, no we don’t win a gunline firefight. But if we disrupt theirs while ours is unperturbed, it ends well for the Hive Mind

If you remove the ravaners I don't have any taxi.

Or is it worded so that you can sett them up on reserves and then bring them on with a lictor for 2 ccp? That is a dirty trick. (I checked. You can resrve them for 1 CC, you don't need burrowing units.)

But I am Leviathan. I am not Jormughard. They are painted that way.

Do you have other figs available? I think Leviathan works best with MSU Warriors escorting big Broods of Gribblies, and having one to buff the Carnifexen as well.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
If so I suggest testing out something like:

Warriors, x3, cannon...x3
Termagants, x24+, Hormagaunts x24+...etc for you 6 troops

And see how that feels...6+++ works best when you roll lots of dice. And don't forget to use Caustic Blood as well.

You can run the second Warrior Brood, and the Prime? in a seperate Command pretty easy... (Prime, Warriors, x9, Rippers, Rippers...)

Good luck! And good hunting!

10/10 is a dirty trick haha. I can respect you playing the models as a certain Fleet because of your paint scheme. I always just look at things from a gameplay perspective. And I didn’t know how you had painted your guys
