Greetings everyone!

What’s everyone using for all those combi plasmas? What’s available on eBay? Or is there something better out there? Thanks in advance.

FW has a decently priced Combi-Weapon pack. 5 each of Plasma, Melta, and Flamer. I highly recommend taking a look at that.

I've also cut off the end of plasma pistols (because lets be honest, who would ever use one?) and slapped it on a combi-bolter.

I asked the same question a couple weeks ago actually. Other than the FW stuff or making your own. Evil Craft and Kromlech make some. There's also some space marine kit that has them but the bits are ultra hard to get.

Vigo. Spain.

Yeah, normally with Chaos Terminators I'll say "Ey, all of them have Combi-plasma", even if they all have combi-bolters.
I can see the argument with the proper gun. But combi-guns? Normally they are too small to notice from tabletop distance.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Moreover, chaos has mod options for other Combi guns, but not plasma. So I personally wouldn't have an issue with just stating they are plasma, so long as you paid the points for it.

Remnants of WYSIWYG which is no longer an official rule.

Aesthetic wise, it's always better from a game enjoyment level to have the models on the table reflecting what they are equipped with, but I agree with others, menial things like combi's etc are fine to just say what they are and go from there. They pretty much look the same from a tabletop point of view.

when you start saying these boltguns are lascannons then I may start having a problem with it (assuming it's not a test game with someone wanting to try some stuff out)

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

It's not an official rule of the baseline game, but it is an official rule for many events. Remember, "official" can be a relative term.

Yep that's good to keep in mind. Locally here looking at first 4 tournament rules I found out 2 were "WYSIWYG"(with exception of grenades) and 2 "as WYSIWYG as possible".

At least here WYSIWYG is still a thing. Without it games could bog down as one player has to keep verifying what weapons were everywhere.

The Battle of Calth box comes with build-it-yourself combi-weapons (albeit only one for each ten space marines). It comes with a "bolter half" with hand attached, and then you attach a melta/plasma/flamer half.

Yep, the BoC/BoP combis are excellent, and what I used for my CSM Terminators.
