Gibbering Horde of Chaos

I’m going straight to the point. I’m a huge fan of the space wolves, but I offered my soul to the dark gods long ago.
I’ve started collecting a warband composed mostly by chaos marines kitbashed and modified with some space wolves bit, but in play I’d like to use them as World Eaters since I think it’s the legion they suit the most, but do I risk someone will contest me this choice? I mean, if I will ever join a tournament (more or less official), is there any risk that someone’s gonna tell me I have to use them as a generic renegade chapter?

And again, since I’m spending much money on the conversions, is it a good idea to use the wulfen models as Khorne berzerkers after having modified them properly? That would suit the background of my legion of course, and esthetically I believe it may work, but the question is still if they would be playable... what do you think?

I’ll probably update this post as long as I’m going to expand my army of course

I don't see why not. They could easily have been a renegade warband who were later folded into the World Eaters.

Vigo. Spain.

Rule of cool. They are your own warband, play with whatever tactics you want.
If some tournament sais that you need to be painted exactly as the lore demands for using specific rules, don't go to that tournament.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I'd need to see the Wulfen but you're probably fine. As long as everything is easily identified on the table.

People go to tournaments with an army that is very obviously painted as one warband and using it as "count as" Alpha Legion, so I don't think you will have any problems.

There was something in the fluff called Skyrar's Dark Wolves or something, basically space wolf renegades.

Sounds like a very cool concept. I'd certainly have no problem with it. Blood hounds of Khorne are a thing, right? (flesh hounds? Blood, flesh, skulls, etc?!)

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Just remember wolves can't be possessed they'd go wolfen as soon as the gods decided to bless them.

So while khorne works nurgle and tzeench wouldn't, slaneesh would just have them drinking so much they'd never leave the mead hall.

Imperial Armour 13 had a little section on the Dark Wolves Company of Steel, noting that the Dark Wolves were rumoured to once be a Space Wolves Great Company that turned renegade while on some kind of penitent crusade type mission. There's a picture of a Fellblade in their colours, which seems to be mostly black with a bit of Space Wolves style grey, and has a fair amount of runic inscriptions alongside the usual Chaos marks. Their icon is basically the Space Wolves one but in red overlaying a chaos star, so I'd say it's a pretty good chance they're ex-Wolves.

Not sure if they're the same as Skyrar's Dark Wolves since there's no mention of him, but they're probably one and the same.

On moon miranda.

There are very definitely renegade Space Wolves, so the concept works in theory, a number defect to Huron as shown in the 4E CSM codex, and there's a group known as Skyrar's Dark Wolves that appear to be renegade Space Wolves as well, bearing otherwise identical heraldry.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Oooh good ol' Wolves'n'Worldeaters

If that really was a legion of it self...there would be no other legion standing, heck even tyranids would try and reason with them...

Lmfao, that makes me laugh so hard. I can see it now.

Swarmlord : "Hey, yeah, our bad, you can have this planet, we ah, we were just passing through. . . Please ask your deamon wolf thing over there to stop licking my carnifex... "

Deamon Space wolf World Eater : " That's my brother...... "

Swarmlord : "oh, uh....."

Deamon Space wolf World Eater : " you know what? It's ok. I pardon you.... From life! Blood for the blood wolf God!"

This could totally work. Russ returns from the warp, tainted from his time in the eye of terror.

The wolves eventually soak up the corruption, boom!

A Song of Ice and Fire - House Greyjoy.
AoS - Maggotkin of Nurgle, Ossiarch Bonereapers & Seraphon.
Bloodbowl - Lizardmen.
Horus Heresy - World Eaters.
Marvel Crisis Protocol - Avengers, Brotherhood of Mutants & Cabal.
Middle Earth Strategy Battle game - Rivendell & The Easterlings.
The Ninth Age - Beast Herds & Highborn Elves.
Warhammer 40k  - Tyranids.

If you can have chaos models being used as space wolves rules wise(common in 7th) why not reverse?

Wulfen models are too big to be a Khorne berserkers, at least they have a different base size. This might be a problem in tournament games.

they are taller, but not very bulky. They should fit on 32mm bases.
I would suggest to kitbash 10 Wulfen out of 5 Wuldfen and 5 Primaris Reivers (or maybe those big AoS Khorne dudes to migitate the cost a bit

Well SW are basically a cross between Slaneesh and Khorne worshipers, they like to drink and fight, so I dont see anyone having a problem.

There should be no problem using space wolves as berserkers, as for wulfen, I'd use them as possessed or something like that.

I would gladly send my Space Wolf brethren to set your treacherous dogs back on the right path.
