They use 60mm bases on DP currently. Also fwiw I don't remember the base being that small on my old prince. What version do you have?

I have some rreeeaaal old fantasy ones hah. I have them from some heroquest / advanced heroquest / warhammer quest game, don't remember which.

Pretty sure back in 4th with the old metal daemon prince they were sold with 40mm which was a pretty tight fit

Base size is irrelevant. There are no rules for it. You can pick any size you want.
