Because I wanted to give a giant middle finger to Gulliman lists that popped up locally in the most Dark Eldar way possible. This comes from a game I had a few weeks back where I tried to cram as many Dark Lances into as few drops as I could which resulted in my local group immediately adopting the Chapter Approved rules on deciding who gets first turn before the book came out. It came to a total of 28 Dark Lances (plus two Blasters) crammed into 7 drops. This isn't even trying to be remotely competitive or fair, and has nothing to deal with hordes (though to be fair Dark Eldar have no answer to hordes without dipping into the Craftworlds list). It's just designed to be the biggest " you" to "Guilliman plus Razorback spam and Stormraven" lists I can put together.

Honestly I wouldn't expect this to win against anything remotely hoardy. Guard and Nids in particular will have a field day with it. It just felt good to give a giant middle finger to those overpowered as hell Ultrasmurfs.

Here is the list:

How are you getting only 7 drops? I count 10. The scourges being placed in "Winged Strike" still counts as a drop.

Otherwise, not bad. Although it might be worth it to take Disintegrators on 2-3 Raiders just to really stick it to the Marines. Pop the transports, then mow down the Marines

There is also no need to take more than the minimum 5 Scourges per unit as you get to take 4 heavies no matter how many are in the unit.
You could do 3 units of 5 with 4 Blasters in each unit (only D3 damage, but doesn't suffer -1 to hit for moving) and that would free up points to add another Raider.

Or if you really are stuck on the Scourges having DLs, why not split the 3 Kabalite units into 6 units of 5, each with a Blaster and Agoniser (using the points dropped from the extra Scourges)

Remember that you can put 10 models in a Raider from multiple units. So you could have:
unit A and Archon A in Raider A,
unit B and Archon B in Raider B,
units C & D in Raider C,
units E & F in Raider D.
And you'll have traded 3 DLs for 6 Blasters. And you won't be as vulnerable to Morale.

Yeah I derped with the drops thing. I should probably not write posts at 2am.

Like I said it's a pure Gimmick list so I wouldn't take it too seriously. It's more "How many Dark lance shots can I cram into one army". and was wondering how I would go about cramming MORE into the list (probably by squeezing in more Kabalites or Raiders I think?). If I wanted to min/max I would makeit more like my usual Shooty Dark Eldar list and drop the Scourges entirely, take an Air Wing with 3 DL+SC Razorwings, and fill the Archon's Raider with Incubi or Sslyth to give a cleaner unit for later in the game and for scoring Assault based objectives..

The big units of Scourges are more for ablative wounds (Twin Assault Cannons do horrible, horrible things to Dark Eldar in general and often wipe MSU Scourges from the table after one round of shooting) and because I quite literally own that many Scourges with Shardcarbines (I often joke about finding spare Scourge boxes just lying around the house). That and having all of those Shardcarbine shots does nasty things to Marines that were booted from thier transports.

That and MSU really doesn't seem to work anymore in 8th unless I play Marines. Those small Dark Eldar units rarely have the volume of fire to make thier points back before being wiped out in a single round of shooting (it's why I've dropped Trueborn from my lists completely unless it's to spam Splinter Cannons or fill a Tantalus with something that aren't Sslyth) and with Eldar and Dark Eldar not really caring much about morale (and Eldar leadership in general), you lose a lot less from morale than you would think.

That said the input is helpful. I do appreciate it.

The problem with "ablative wounds" in 8E is that it means those Razorbacks do no need to kill the whole unit to make the rest of the models run away. You kill 5-6 and it is likely the rest will flee.

And MSU absolutely works with Kabalites because they can share a Raider. 2x 5 with 2 Blasters is better than 10 with a single DL in literally every situation.
You already need to get close to use the Splinter rifles and 2 shots that do D3 damage each is more reliable than 1 shot that does D6.

At the very least, I would drop 1-2 Scourges per unit to split the Kabalites

1) Remember it's a Gimmick list about spamming Dark Lances. If I was going to post something actually competitive I would be posting my usual list.

2) Assuming I palced the Scourges out in the open with zero cover, 12 Twin Assault Cannon shots against Scourges averages 3.7 Wounds so you're making the sole surviving DL Scourge flee on a 4+ for a squad of 5.

If we toss in Gman? That Razorback will statistically wipe out the 5 man Scourge Squad in a single round of shooting.

With a full 10 man Squad, that's an average of what? 5-6 Scourges gone including morale, and the DL Scourges will largely be intact and ready to shoot again.

3) If I was going to go MSU (which would only be to cram even more DLs into the list to fit the gimmick) it would make more sense to just drop the raiders and Kabalites entirely and just spam Corsair Reaver Squads sniping from across the board with Dark Lances.

Why are Eldar heavy weapons so cheap? Bright/Dark Lances are basically 36" Melta weapons for way less than Marines pay for a 24" one and almost less than their 12" one. Oh so bitter. That being said, nice list. Screw the "Gimmick" aspect of it, its a game, there are rules, play by them and win.

"The Ultramarines are here to save us!"

"Those are the Sons of Orar."

"O R they!"

Probably because the units that carry said heavy weapons die the second a Heavy Bolter looks at them funny. Especially the Dark Eldar who can't hide behind dozens of psychic powers. They make up for it by having ridiculous firepower.
