Ok, with the new points reductions I'd like to try a brigade themed around the speed freaks concept. So no footslogging units. I must bring some artillery though since BWs are too expensive for a brigade, flash gitz are lackluster and eventually just one unit, walkers don't fit the theme of the army at all and I never liked embarked lootas, which are also extremely expensive. So the three kannonz must be part of the list, even if they don't have much to share with the speed freaks concept. In 7th edition I run 3 looted wagons with kill kannons in my speed freaks list.
Brigade Detachment
Warboss, warbike, pk (99)
Big mek, warbike, KFF (101)
Warboss, killchoppa (62)
11 boyz including nob with pk (79)
5x12 boyz including nob with pk (425)
2x5 tankbustas with a bomb squig each (190)
3 meganobz, all with killsaws (144)
3x1 skorchas (162)
3x1 kannonz (81)
8x trukk with big shoota (656)
Total 1999 points.
Plan is simple, I have 8 transports, 3 buggies, 2 biker characters as fast units and three objective sitting lone kannonz which allow everything else in the list to rush forward. Footslogging warboss joins the smaller unit of boyz of course, he could ride with MANZ but I don't want too many eggs in a single basket.
I don't have a lot of anti infantry but 8 big shootas, 60ish boyz, a couple of bikes, eventually the kannonz and 3 skorchas could be enough against many lists, while all the pks, killsaws, rokkits and kannonz can deal with armored units. I'd want to give a killsaw to the big mek, but in order to do so I'd have to cut 2 pks and a boy and replace them with big choppas and an ammo runt for the warboss.
It's a fragile list that may suffer against opponents that bring massive anti tank but I'd really like to try a speed freaks themed army. I won't go to a tournament with this list but I want it to be TAC and the most competitive as possible. No FW units.
Any suggestions?

I think there could be an issue with small units getting shot when they disembark. Anything that is also mobile and shooty, like eldar scatterbikes, could ruin your day.. I was also building a speed freaks list with bikez but I dont mind having a brigade.

I've made a few changes, basically I've cut 4 trukks and the kannonz replacing them with 2 BWs and 2 KMKs.
Brigade Detachment
Warboss, warbike, pk (99)
Big mek, warbike, KFF, killsaw (116)
Warboss, killchoppa (62)
2x10 boyz including nob with pk (146)
11 boyz including nob with pk (79)
3x12 boyz including nob with pk (255)
2x5 tankbustas with a bomb squig each (190)
3 meganobz, all with killsaws (144)
3x1 skorchas (162)
2 KMKs (84)
2x Battlewagon with big shoota (334)
4x trukk with big shoota (328)
Total 1999 points.
One battlewagon carries 2x10 boyz, the other one transports 11 boyz plus the meganobz and the footslogging warboss. 3 trukks full of boyz and one full of bustas. I also gave a killsaw to the big mek.
Alternatively I tried to drop the meganobz and I replaced them with a painboy, more boyz in order to make the unit 18 man strong and a third KMK.

How are you filling a brigade and outrider? I'm pretty sure trukks don't count as fast attack, but dedicated transports, in 8th edition.
I like the list. I don't think a painboy would be worth adding since your units are so small and they won't benefit until they disembark.

It was a mistake, I did copy-paste the title of another list. It's a pure brigade. Fixed it
I also prefer keeping the meganobz.

Have you had much success with running small (10-12) units of boyz in 8th? It just seems such a waste to forego both the extra attack and morale abilities. I know you are interested in the theme of a speed freakz army, but between Da Jump and Kommandoes, infantry has a lot better mobility than a T6 transport with 10 wounds that can only carry 12 models...
I am still personally unsure on the BW's - they just seem so expensive for what they are.

Large mobz of boyz are certainly more efficient but also incredibly boring. I can't stand moving all that models. I also probably forgot to say that my meta can be competitive, but not at tournament levels.
And I also like to use the majority of the codex, I always change lists. Trying something different is vital for me, I'd hate my beloved orks if I have to bring the green tide in each game I play

If you're running the bustas in the same trukk I'd probably combine them to a single unit to maximize the effectiveness of dakkadakkadakka stratagem. If their transport is destroyed they're going to be toast anyway be it one unit or two.
Obviously that's going to cost an Elite slot so might not be possible. Just a thought.
