This is a topic I've brought up before in regards to other armies, but I think it's worth asking in this case as it's a different rule and we never reached consensus on how to play it last time (and it's still not FAQed).

If a Tyranid unit that did not charge this turn is 2" from an enemy and is selected as a target of Adrenaline Surge can it fight?

It says fight again, which would mean it would have had to have already fought once for it to meet the condition to activate.

You could have already fought, such as if you were previously locked in combat, wiped the squad and consolidated towards the nearest enemy squad.

Yes, IF you already fought you could use the stratagem, there should be no contention on that. It would let you pick that unit to fight again (which would include pile in move of 3/6").


What I was saying no againgst was say advancing a unit of genestealers 2-3" away and then using the strat to avoid overwatch. That's a no-go.

I can see your reasoning there, makes sense. I think we will soon have people who disagree with the scenario whereby you can fight again if you already fought. I asked this question about Ynarri previously and, whilst that rule is slightly different, it is very close and we couldn't come to a conclusion. The same question is relevant for the chaos fight twice stratagem and berserkers of course.

Just remember for stratagems, you have to meet the condition stated to be allowed to activate them.

In this case, fight again means exactly that. They had to have already fought once in the phase.

Some strats are pretty ambiguous with their wording but this one seems pretty clear.

Implant attack is another thing completely however. Really need a FAQ for that one.
