Hello Dakka!

Wanted to hunker down and start refining my miniature face painting skills. Specifically helmet-less, more-fleshy-than-cybernetic human heads. My usual bits sources seems to group heads together based on squad ("Devastator Squad Head Bits", or "Sternguard Veterans Head Bits"), which typically include mostly helmeted space marine heads. Trying to get the biggest bang for my buck as far as the least amount of helmeted heads possible. Other than that, I'm really not picky. They don't even have to be GW, as I'm not planning on using these for any actual minis, just as practice, although it would be nice if they were somewhat roughly the same size. I checked the IG section (is the official nomenclature "AM" now?) but still quite a bit of helmets/visors.

If you know of a solid human-head bits source, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Just human or space marines?

because there are tons of 3rd party ones

like

and mad robo, victoria all of them do bare heads.

stick them on pins

practice and when you need them cut them off and use them

Absolutely superb source, Desubot. Exactly what I was looking for, and a vastly superior bits source from what I was originally using. Is the quality of these bits well-represented in the photos? Have you any experience with this source in that regard?

EDIT: What's the item ID/product of the photo you posted?

EDIT 2: Sorry, got excited and forgot to address your question -- just human heads. I'm pretty strong painting a helmeted head, but the transitions and subtleties of helmetless human heads seems to still elude me.

IIRC Sanguinary Guard have 5 helmetless heads. Should be easy enough to find.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page
