Should I uninvite him from my birthday party or should I break his models when he gets here?

What army are you playing?

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

If you don't want to play that list you can tell him so. Be prepared for him to then not want to play whatever you want to bring.

I'm not sure if you're a troll or not given you are asking if you should break his models...If that's your attitude then you probably shouldn't be playing games involving models with others.

You should do neither. You should either play against his list or tell him politely that you don't want to play against nine commanders. Both options are perfectly okay.

And to be fair, Tau does not have many good options outside of commanders.

At best tell him to bring a different army.
Commander spam is what tau players will use untill the codex is released.

Their options aren't so bad you need 90% commanders. Commanders are simply more point efficient than everything else. Fire Warriors, Stealth Teams, Drones, Pathfinders, Sunshark Bomber, Vespid are all pretty decent, especially for 'casual' gaming. This is some Robbie G + Assault Cannon Razorback spam nonsense.

Tell this guy to bring an actual casual list or he won't be playing.

This is the definition of not casual.

And Tau are not as bad as people claim they are, especially in a casual setting.

I am praying OP was joking or sarcastic... it's actually a kind of funny caricature of the Warhammer 40k community if it's intended to be facetious.

If it's serious, on the other hand, then... well, it's still funny, from a horrific and appalling point of view.

Options:

1) Play a good army of your own against his

2) Ask politely if they can make another choice

3) Play the game; win against all odds and prove the might of your army

4) Unleash cat-zilla upon the table (note use of Catzilla is at user own risk and can come with significant friendly fire - if Catzilla chooses to sleep upon the table it becomes impassable terrain).

5) Crush his models - please note this option comes with a non-refundable end of friendship; potential crushing of your models; likely guaranteed demands for reimbursement).

6) Hang your hat up and resign from the hobby before he can arrive; thus ensuring that you win by default of not playing.

No where in your post does it indicate you're trying to give people a laugh, being sarcastic, trying to be funny, or anything else. You posted as a perfectly serious question. Given this is the internet, and the mindset you portrayed is not out of the realm of possibility, how are we supposed to read your mind to know that you told him to bring the cheese when you said the exact opposite?

That's not about being serious, it's about actually saying what you mean to say.

It is tau, 12 commanders is casual. 9 commanders is roughing it and really playing down.

You should spot your friend 250 points and apologize for Tau being so bad in 8th. Then you should give them a present for showing up to your party with such an embarrassing list, i recommend a commander as a gift. They need all the help you can give them.

TROLL/LULZ threads are really NOT needed or welcome here.

At best, they're spam, at worst, they're against RULE #1.

Please refrain from this type of post moving forward.
