Subject: Citadel coloured sprays - air bubbles?

I'm using a tin of caliban green spray paint to base coat my models. Undercoated with a black primer (also citadel) first. But when the caliban drys, there are areas with small holes in the paint. I'm guessing they are where small air bubbles have been in the paint. It looks a bit like the inside of an aero! Any advice on what may be causing it, or how to avoid this in the future?

Maybe contaminates on the black primer?

That sounds like one of two things;
1. Spray went on too thick or
2. There is mold release or some other oil repelling the adhesion of the paint.

As others stated, even if you weren't intending to the paint could of gone on too thick around those areas.
One other thing I would say (unless there is some desired effect you are going for) is consider letting the caliban green be undercoat and basecoat all in ONE. This is how I, personally, use the Mephiston Red on my Blood Angels and it comes out perfect. I doubt a thin coat of black primer and then a nice thin coat of caliban green primer is the "cause" of any air bubbles...but you could be saving some black primer for other models!

I had the same problem with the Khorne Red spray, was always getting bubbles. Also with Zandri Dust to a lesser extent.
I never did figure out why, just swapped to Army Painter sprays.

Thanks for the advice chaps. I suspect it may have gone on a touch too thick in spots. It must be pretty delicate stuff though. The black primer from GW has always seemed completely bomb proof to me. I've never taken care over using it and never had a problem. The coloured sprays, not so user friendly!
@beradical I was under the impression that the coloured sprays weren't suitable as primers, and need the coat of black primer first. It'd be easier if that's not the case.
