Saw a battle report today on mwg, someone used mortarions multiple attack profile against imperium and rolled some 6's, this triggers dttfe. He then made an additional 3 attacks for each 6 rolled, as per the weapon profile. Is this right? So if Morty had prescience on him he would have 18 S8 attacks that on 5s trigger 3 more attacks(6 extra attacks all tripled by the weapon profile), which gives on avg Morty about 36 attacks in his horde mode against any imperial army.

The weapon profile says "Make 3 hit rolls for each attack with this weapon, instead of 1".
So it seems legit to roll 3 more for each 6+ rolled.

Most people are ruling that as a yes, even though I'm fairly certain it wasn't intended that way.
The extra attacks are really only supposed to come from the original attacks he gets with the weapon. He is allowed to change all the attacks from his attack characteristic into 3 attacks each time he swings with that weapon.
New attacks are generated from an ability and aren't part of his attack characteristic.
However, its mostly up to the tournament organizers.

Thanks guys. I did a little (no way complete) review and casting prescience is not that great unless your facing massive units of imperium, which is very rare. Its probably only useful against 10 man Terminator squads or conscripts because imperial armies don't usually take large squads.
Edit : If its worth wasting a psychic power - prescience- then if you attack an imperial tank with eviscerating mode you get 6 (5-6 on dice), reroll 3 (get another 5-6). A total of 7 extra attacks that can then be used in the tank-hunting mode at S16 AP4 D/6

Note you would only get 3 attacks using the scythe's profile as well. Not with any of his other weapon profiles.

What I am saying is that with Prescience, against armour, you initially use the 3x profile then use the additional hits generated through dttfe as the s16 ap4 d/6 profile. So you initially hit 18 times, of those 6 are 5-6s so generate 6 more hits. 3 Miss and are re-rolled (1 of which is 5-6). So 17.5 of the original hits hit and you generate 7 more S16 AP4 D/6 hits which hit on 2s rerolling 1s. Of course this is only with prescience against imperial armies.
Edit: Or am I mistaken can a model only fight with one weapon profile a phase? And if so can you please locate the pg in the rulebook/faq that states this.

its in the entry for Silence: When attacking with this weapon, choose one of the profiles below.
Models can divide attacks with 2 weapons.

It just says with the same Weapon - nothing saying you couldn't change profile between original hits and the 6+ additional hits. Seems legit.

Yeah, I'd say you're free to pick a different profile since it says you're allowed another "attack", not another "hit roll", and Mortarions weapon says "when attacking, choose".
