Hi there

Made this little mobile app for generating the profile for obilterator weapons to save rolling the dice:
http://www.meltatotheface.com/oblits.php

it's pretty simple but might be useful to some of you

now that would be cheating!

I Like this, but your opponent could call it cheating as he dont know the chances of the rolls. Its like using loaded dice.

The javascript math.random function is random enough for these purposes.

aye i doubt you'll use it in a tourney more of a local club time saver, can always ask let ye opponent at a tourney see 20 or so results of pushing the button maybe, as it is random but obv offer dice if they not comfortable.

i made it because i'm using 4 units of them at the minute, its a pain keeping track of it

That's very cool, thanks for sharing!

My solution is that I purchased several actual D3s (in a different colour from my normal dice) roll them at once, and go left to right to apply them. Makes it easier and visible to my opponent. But I guess an app works too.

Thank you!
I confess I rolled until I scored the perfect S9 AP-3 D3.

It might be random enough BUT problem here being if you run into player who's sporting this home made dice roll applicator how can you be sure odds are not slightly tampered with?

For example say he's playing space marines. Just sliiight nudge from odds of rolling 1's to rolling 2's and 2's into 3's and he would have notable benefit. Less overheats, more hits. And people when looking at loaded dices get suspicious on lots' of 6's but does somebody really easily catch if somebody rolls say in average 12% 1's, 12% 2's and the difference is spread for 3's, 4's, 5's and 6's evenly?

I could do app like that in like 30 minutes if I wanted.

In this case it's trivial to check the source code, even on your phone and with a very basic understanding of math you can see how it works. That's how I knew which random number generator it was using.

I'd trust this to be more random than cheap dice or logo dice.

A mobile app (i.e. Non-web) is a different story, it's basically a complete unknown. Given how poor many people's understanding of probability is I wouldn't trust any app that I could not inspect the source code for. (I'm thinking of the chap on here who was super proud of how his dice rolling app always generated the average result and he couldn't see what the problem with that was...)
